Re: The new Super League is going down the tubes.

The source said that officials at Denver and North Dakota strongly questioned the direction of the WCHA during the annual American Hockey Coaches Association convention in Florida in May. There was sentiment to force long-time commissioner Bruce McLeod to step down, but the source said that while people from multiple schools inched up to that line, "no one crossed it.''

What? Why did no one dare cross that line? Does Bruce have photos of the SCSU puppy and the MSUM steer "gettin' busy"?

Or were they all afraid to fall on the wrong side of one of the many decisions from McLeod that left teams, fans, coaches, administrators, and even media asking ... "What the ... "

When the notion came up of schools possibly seceding from the WCHA instead, it was met with the threat of six-figure fines per institution.

Threaten fines for a discussion?

Did Bruce forget that conference agreements all have "out" clauses? Seems that now two, no five, no, a total of SEVEN teams remembered it.

Buh-bye Bruce. And you can keep all Shepherd ... all of them.

this is an interesting comparison. Have you done the addition?
Was just doing math in my head (dangerous).

MN 5, WI 6 (?), MI 9, MSU 2 (?) PSU 0, OSU 0 = 22
UND 7, UMD 1, DU 7 (?) UNO 0 MIA 0 CC 0 = 15

CC = 2, MSU = 3

23-17

Of course, the majority were won while in the WCHA. The B1G has won zero and the NCHC has won zero.

So....everyone's taking their banners down when they leave a conference?

Maybe stitch an old WCHA logo or an asterisk on them?

Should Mark Harmon be the league president?

Re: The new Super League is going down the tubes.

Ahh CC, all I could think of was Lucia's inability to win the title there during his run of success.

Does Hockey East count the titles won by BU and BC prior to its formation? Does the CCHA count Northern Michigan's 1991 National Title or Michigan and Michigan State's titles while they were in the WCHA?

Re: The new Super League is going down the tubes.

MSU has 3 and CC has 2 for 23-17. The rest are correct.

CC = 2, MSU = 3

23-17

When did DU get 7?

They don't obviously. But that does bring up a question. The Big Ten could claim those titles, since they are from member institutions or a larger organizing body. Kind of like the Ivy league could claim titles even though its not a true hockey conference?

They could. I doubt it happens though.

1958, 1960, 1961, 1968, 1969, 2004, 2005

And before you ask, for UND: 1959, 1963, 1980, 1982, 1987, 1997, 2000
I knew UND had 7...I used to like them before this BS, for some reason I thought DU was behind UND and when I couldn't DU, I missed 1958 because I didn't scroll down their "team history" page far enough...sorry
