Except hits on the pairwise from beating a much lower ranked team don't happen. They exclude those. Of course if you lose to that lowly ranked team that's another story. Do I have to mention the $500,000 in potential revenue from the extra home games again as well?

Concern about pairwise hits must have been why UND took every invitation to any tournament in Alaska to play non-conference games over the last decade huh? Or why they scheduled Holy Cross this season?

I'm still laughing.

Even easier when fans of good teams drown themselves in denial and delusion in order to rationalize the stupidity that the program they so deeply worship foisted upon the college hockey landscape. Learn about irony and you'll see.

And also when your only reply is ... "your team sucks" ... that's hilarious too.

Indeed voting to allow UAA into the WCHA was a very poor decision.

Notice how the only people saying how dumb the NCHC schools are for leaving the WCHA, are fans of the schools that got left behind.

not just WCHA schools. it seems like occasionally Gopher fans take jabs at the NCHC schools for being traitors as well

Which is why you see all those Atlantic Hockey teams given at large bids?

I'll try and phrase it another way. Win or lose, playing a team like Maine would be better for our PWR than Alaska-Anchorage.

I can't be the only one that doesn't see how being paired with Omaha is much different than being paired with SCSU.

It's not just about who your rival is. It's getting to avoid sh^tty teams like Tech and UAA and their whiney fans. In UAA's case all seven of them.

You can equivocate all you want, but the simple fact is that if Wisconsin and Minnesota don't leave the WCHA, the NCHC never happens. That is the reason we are seeing major change. Gopher fans have no standing to criticize the NCHC schools. And the "but we had to leave" excuse is meaningless.

all this does is show how short sighted some programs were. anyone with half a brain knew the BIg Ten (12,14, whatever it is today) was coming. program panic is what changed the WCHA.
