Re: The NCHC: Just be glad its NaCHo League

Could someone point me to the CCHA's swimming and diving page? The WCHA's lacrosse website?

I mean by looking at the CCHA'S and WCHA's homepage it's clear to see how important these sports are.
I bet those sports bring in some big money for their schools.

Re: The NCHC: Just be glad its NaCHo League

Hate to break it to you, but hockey isn't really a big money maker either.

The Big Ten won't have a hockey page on it's website until Big Ten hockey starts. No need to have one before then.
I guess I was going with the fact that it is for UND. Hockey is their money maker for obvious reasons. But I would venture to say hockey makes a tad more than swimming or lacrosse.

Actually, most schools lose money on hockey. UND is one of the exceptions. Ohio State, for instance, has been losing $2 million a year on hockey.

Interesting, but the NCHC does need to have one up 16 months before the first game is played? And not just any site, but a fully functional professionally designed and regularly updated site. And because they don't, it's clearly a sign the conference is doomed to fail? Why the double standard?

I can believe that. With the cost of having a team and the lack of attendance for most the schools it makes sense.

I don't think anyone has said the NCHC needed to have one up before the conference began. I believe what was being criticized was the fact that they did put a website up before it was needed, then let it expire.

Slightly embarrassing? Sure. Sign that the conference is doomed to fail? No way. You shouldn't let a certain clueless troll get under your skin :)

I've heard from 2 different people that UND originally paid for the domain and that it likely expired so the NCHC itself could then pay for it and take it over now that they have some staff people in place.
That could be a reason it went down.

It really doesn't matter. Not like anything was hurt by it. But, from what I understand the site was down for quite a while, and only went back up when people started Tweeting them that it was down.

The only reason this is a topic of conversation is because a troll with no life and a twisted personality wants to get under people's skin.

I have to admit, I found it amusing, but certainly nothing to make a big deal about, and certainly not the kind of mistake any other conference is immune to making.

You can transfer domain names to other parties. That explanation makes no sense at all.

Re: The NCHC: Just be glad its NaCHo League

Someone had to loan the NCHC money to actually take over paying for the domain because they don't exist yet?
