Re: The Movie Thread: New, Rented, Whatever....I don't care

Sony will now make a limited release of The Interview on Xmas Day.

http://money.cnn.com/2014/12/23/media/screening-the-interview/index.html?hpt=hp_t1

It'll show in three Texas cities and a theater in Atlanta. The theater names were not released. It's unknown whether or not Sony will release it for home video.

Now the question becomes, Knowing what the North Koreans did to Sony, would you download or purchase this movie if you thought that the North Koreans might go after those who they know have viewed the movie with more cyberattacks?

So the movie will now be eligible for the Oscars. It'll be interesting to see how many nominations it gets on January 15...

What's the worst that the North Koreans could really do to somebody? put kiddie porn on their computer and then call up their local cops to have them arrested?

Christmas Vacation

An absolute classic holiday movie. Takes me back every time.

Re: The Movie Thread: New, Rented, Whatever....I don't care

Before that we watched A Muppet Family Christmas which is an annual tradition - unlike the rotation of Christmas Vacation, Home Alone, Scrooged, etc which get watched every third year or so.

Quite possibly my favorite Christmas show/movie and favorite Muppet anything.

So... perfect.

The scene in Spinal Tap with the cucumber wrapped in aluminum foil at the airport would be so much different today....
