Re: The Movie Thread: New, Rented, Whatever....I don't care

Pretty much whenever I stumble across it while channel surfing, I just have to stop and watch.

Parts of it have been watched 20-30 times over the past couple months in this house as it's been on HBO pretty much nonstop.

I keep hearing jokes/rips that I missed.

Life Aquatic: Terrible. And I liked/loved the director's other previous movies.

Pitch Perfect: loved. Totally loved.

MM: I dunno why meh. I know what it's about. Maybe it was too bland for the critics in strict performances? The plot not in depth enough? Dunno.

I've watched the Riff Off scene about 4,493,337 times.

I have two movies on my coffee table from Netflix, neither of which I really care to see. I don't know how this happens....why do I put **** movies on my queue in the first place? :p

Which movies would they be?

Man of Steel and The Family. I thought I'd want to watch Man of Steel, but now have no interest, and I have no recollection of putting The Family on the queue, hell, I don't even know what it is about.

Man Of Steel is blech, and The Family is a comedy about a relocated family in the witness protection program, and it looks mildly amusing (I have it on my streaming list)

One of mine is when they do the Bruno Mars song. When Anna Kendrick starts doing the stomp/twist/clap thing, I melt.

"Bumper and Donald................gettin' it............gettin' it"

The quiet Asian girl always cracked me up in that movie:

I set fires to feel joy.

Went and saw Godzilla last night in IMAX 3D (highly recommend). The greatest thing about the film is it was the same Godzilla I remember as a kid, just more awesome because of the movie technology upgrade. They didn't have to give him a mechanical suit or anything to work.

You know what was an awesome movie, in the way that Jacob's Ladder was awesome? Triangle. But don't read the reviews or watch the trailer if you haven't seen it yet, it takes the fun out of a couple of cool scenes.

As documentaries go, Fed Up was worth seeing.

Re: The Movie Thread: New, Rented, Whatever....I don't care

Despite the fact that it just kinda ends, heaven is for real is a wonderful movie.

Bass, the theater must have bass. Saw it at the new theater in Marquette and could feel it out in the lobby for the other show a half hour behind.

I do think they could have made the color work on Godzilla's skin be more varied. He's kind of just one shade of dark grey hidden behind smoke and darkness. But it did make the color stand out more that first time he started to charge up his spikes with power.

I'm curious if this movie has the most damage ever done to San Francisco. It's ****ed, they may as well have let that stupid nuke go off and rebuild from scratch.
