The Michigan OT Goal

billmich - you stated in an earlier post that you would like to see this thread continue as a thread discussing controversies, half joking I'm sure. Any other controversies worth discussing?

many current ones have other threads associated with them i.e. regionals format change and the like. big 10 conference. im pretty sure there will be another controversy during the frozen 4 though.

Re: The Michigan OT Goal

I`m quite sure the reason this topic is no longer discussed on MavPuck is 1) your season is over, and 2) On mavpuck you arent allowed to express an opinion thats not permitted by the "inner circle". Otherwise you will be banned from the site. For a class act like Streaker to get the boot from that site for simply expressing a differring opinion (not bad language, not inflammatory speach) speaks quite a bit to the closed mindedness and newbie thinking that goes on over there. I especially liked his line earlier in this thread: "Rolled up the welcome mat". Simply delicious

Re: The Michigan OT Goal

Absence makes the heart grow fonder? I just think playing in the WCHA has ended much of that animosity. Now, is that true for all UNO fans, or even the majority, probably not.

Ok, then who's replaced Michigan as the team you despise?

Re: The Michigan OT Goal

billmich - Interesting you use the word "inner circle." That tends to be a shared term among some hockey folks outside of the inner circle in Omaha.

Re: The Michigan OT Goal

I thought Mav fans were quite reserved after what happened to them... while it may have been a goal, I have no idea how the refs found enough evidence to overturn the call on the ice. UM fans can beat their chests all they want about how the proper call was made but in the end all it earned them was an a**-kicking by the Sioux...:p

ahem, what kind of kicking?? OH please please please post about how UMD will beat Michigan, pretty please do it.

One more win and Michigan can declare themselves WCHA champions!!!!!

well I had no idea that the feeling was shared even by those in Omaha. So are you saying that my "outsiders" view of that site is accurate?

Why is this thread still alive? Michigan fans, let's let this drop. It was a controversial call, but who cares, the break went our way, and now we are playing for the title.

lol.

Re: The Michigan OT Goal

Yes really. Last time I can find a UNO fan commenting about it on here or Mavpuck is March 29th. We put it to bed 8 days ago but yet this thread still lives on. As for the rest of you, get over the whining about being called weasels. Youve been weasels since the beginning. This is nothing new. Would you like me to capitalize it from now on to match your overinflated egos?

Sure, as long as you don't take offense to the truth, which apparently you and your ilk DO.

What happened to the "Husker-reject" fans? Oh yea, they lost. It happens.

Check your prediction tough-guy...

Re: The Michigan OT Goal

billmich - your "outsiders" view is very accurate for some folks in Omaha. And I agree, the UNO - Michigan game did serve as a good springboard for the Wolverines. They are riding that wave to the title game. SCSU: Bemidji is the new enemy of course. :)
Congrats Wolverines on the victory. Pulling for Duluth (conference alliance of course), but don't be surprised to see the Wolverines hoisting the trophy.

Re: The Michigan OT Goal

This one is for you UMICH or billmich - out of your opponents played this year, where would you rank UNO on your list of quality teams played? UMICH - I saw on another thread that you stated UND, next to Miami, was one of the best teams you played this year. Where would UNO fall? We played a strong Friday night at Yost, got demolished on Saturday, and then went to OT in the playoffs. Interested where you would place us....

i made no such assessemnt. i did state that uno gave michigan its worst home loss of the year (but we only had 2).. and the nd reference in that post was regarding notre dame, not north dakota. uno was in the top 6 of
teams we faced along with miami/nd/nodak/unh/ and cc

Nice catch on UND...woops! I was just wondering from your perspective, with you having followed Michigan all year....
I am hoping that UNO will continue to schedule Michigan in non-conference in the future, even with the Big 10 conference formation. Always a good quality opponent and fun games to watch...
