The List for the 2019-2020 Season: Episode 1

Re: The List for the 2019-2020 Season: Episode 1

No more "Bailey Kisses" to start my day is on the top of The List.

My Australian Shepherd died yesterday after a short stay in doggy ICU. Not a pretty girl but easily the smartest dog I ever had. Smarter than most of the people i have to deal with day in and day out. I always got great kisses after scratching her butt and telling her how ugly she was. I AM SAD!

Sorry Buster, losing a dog is tough. They are happy every time they see you.

How do you know dogs really are man's best friend?

Put your dog and your wife in the truck of your car. Drive around town for a couple hours. Open the trunk. Who's happy to see you? ;)

Man, I’m sorry. That’s the worst. I’ve got two (both Aussie mixes, both really good looking but not that smart) and I’ll give them extra cuddles today

The List: voicemail message that says "you only need to leave ONE voicemail".

well, if you ever bothered returning my calls, I WOULD only leave one. see who can solve this problem of people leaving multiple voicemails? YOU.

Re: The List for the 2019-2020 Season: Episode 1

Having no "List" items to report: Anti-List.

Two days in on my new job and it's going well. I'm making connections with the kids (little buddy today squeezed my finger and he thought I could help him). There's a single person restroom and the door locks, so I'm free to use the bathroom without a bunch of cis women saying I make them uncomfortable. I'm re-establishing a routine after being out of work for 5 months. I'm hearing the right pronouns from everyone there, and the lead tech is calling me "Miss Amber" with the kids I'm observing. The online training can be annoying, but I'm learning a lot, and I will put it into practice with the kids I'm instructing. I have a totally supportive staff around me and they're going to help me as I get going. I feel at home there, I feel like I belong there, and I know I can be a rock star there.

My foot is making all sorts of progress. I am now able to walk all the way back to the butter at Meijer, then to the baking aisle, the coffee aisle, the wine aisle (the essentials, right?), and over to the meat and produce area without pain. I am also able to make multiple trips up the stairs to bring in the groceries, plus do squats and lunges. This wasn't possible 5 months ago, and was painful before surgery.

Over two years ago, I walked into Out On the Lakeshore for the first time. I now know other trans people in my area, and I found the best adopted Mama anyone can ask for; I think we adopted each other. I even found my best friend because of OOTL, and when we go out to dinner, we spend time holding hands. One night, I was so tired, I fell asleep on her boob.

Even watching my cat play with a rubber band is amazing... I don't need cat toys. My cat also loves to "help" with yoga and Pilates.

So much more.

I've been waiting for a job in my field for over 13 years... I am going to celebrate. This first week has gone so well!

Re: The List for the 2019-2020 Season: Episode 1

Got a new piece of power equipment today at my building. Unfortunately, it has the speed governor, the acceleration mode (easy, medium, hard) set on "easy," and the "height over-ride" button still active. Those are the settings for the main building, due to narrower aisles/more people/etc.

Called the tech in, to make it fit for my building.
Him: So, what needs to be done?
Me: Unleash the beast. Take off ALL limits to this machine.
Him: (chuckles) Yeah, I can do that.

ANTI-LIST!

Re: The List for the 2019-2020 Season: Episode 1

The certain inalienable truth that it's easier to show patience, grace, compassion, kindness, etc with others than it is to show it to yourself is on The List.

Re: The List for the 2019-2020 Season: Episode 1

The fact I flamed out of my job a week before Christmas is on the List.

Spending Christmas unemployed is on the List. I'm looking for jobs right now, but realistically I won't hear back from ANY employer before New Year's.

One wrong move with my foot could send me back to surgery is on the List.

Giving up running for 18 months is on The List. I understand I need to let my foot heal, but I had goals for next year, and they're already gone.

Standing up in front of City Council, outing myself to City Council, and saying I won't move to the City until LGBTQIA are added to the non-discrimination ordinance is on the Anti-List. I felt like a rock star Wednesday night!

Feeling like trash since then is on the List.

Joking Hazard is on The List for demonstrating how devoid of wit most people, even (especially) your friends, are.

So I saw this game recently and thought of this post. Does this mean you despise that game?

Re: The List for the 2019-2020 Season: Episode 1

The person or technology that put my unborn baby’s name out there for telemarketers is on The List.🤬

Re: The List for the 2019-2020 Season: Episode 1

Feeling that this foot will never heal is on The List. I'm back to using the knee scooter in stores and will need a bone stimulator.

It needs a lot of expansion so it isn't geared for 11-year olds. It could be brilliant.

If you play with a group of witty people it can still be OK for a while but it tops out quickly.

It's not really the game's fault. The game gives an accurate, brutal, and immediate evaluation of how clever your friends are. The vast, vast majority of people, even smart ones, are not clever.
