I expect Ravn will get at least one start on the exhibition swing through Ontario over the Christmas holiday break, but prefer to see him also get at least a couple of starts in games that count.
Ravn isn't a typical 3rd string goalie. That's why it's a bit of a puzzle why he hasn't got any starts. He had very good credentials coming out of Juniors. I know that 3rd string goalies normally don't see much action, but in this case I'm surprised he hasn't gotten a start.
That is a mystery. We already speculated about that last year and now he is here and he doesn't play.
I don't know what Roque's reasons are for not playing Ravn, but I think the whole situation is really strange. Before the season started I indicated that I hoped both Kapalka and Ravn would push BMW, but only Kapalka has been given that chance thus far. I think Ravn has gotten the short end of the stick.
I heard Bill C talking about it recently so I believe it is still on. I think they are playing 4 or 5 games. They don't play until Jan 14 after the Christmas holiday so they would be going over a month without playing if it weren't for the series of exhibition games. The last official series before the Christmas holiday is Dec 10-11 at WMU.
I think it's great that Kapalka has been playing so well recently. But I am surprised Ravn didn't get a start in one of the early non-conference games to see what he can do. Neither BMW nor Kapalka got off to strong starts to the season.
