Re: "The Lake Show" - LSSU Laker Hockey

First I would like to welcome myself to the "Lake Show" thread. However with Jimbo at the helm it should be entitled the "Lame Show" lol. I've read this fan forum for years and it's amazing how many of you dopes make excuses for this team. Flu, tough schedule, puck luck etc, etc. I've seen them all on here. How bout this one; the Coach can't coach and the players he recruits stink at playing hockey. I and many others here in the Soo can't believe Jimbo is still allowed to "coach" this team. It's time to give Roque and the rest of his Gong Show the boot!

Just as a warning to the rest of the "regular" posters of this thread there has been a clown by the username of " boot walt kyle" that has been spewing nonesense on the NMU thread for the past couple years and I have a suspicion that this is the same person just trying to cause problems..for a join date of sept. 2008 and a terrible repuation it seems odd that "boot jim roque"'s profile only has 1 post to his credit...just thought id give everyone a fair warning...

Re: "The Lake Show" - LSSU Laker Hockey

Western Ontario lost to Michigan 4-2. Considering that Michigan is widely considered the team to beat this year, a fairly respectable score and game by the Western Mustangs.

Perhaps we can conclude that Western is a fairly good program who already had a few games under its belt and were more game ready than the Lakers who only had the benefit of a couple of official practices.

Next weekend will tell us far more of what this team will be capable of accomplishing.

Re: "The Lake Show" - LSSU Laker Hockey

Having watched Michigan's game with Western Ontario, I would suggest that their skill and talent level is probably on par with the likes of BG, or some of the middling/lower AHA teams. They weren't a complete cupcake and did provide some good competition.

However, this is also the Michigan team that gave up 4 unanswered goals to Mercyhurst last night in a 4-4 tie. Not exactly storming the castle right out of the gate.

Re: "The Lake Show" - LSSU Laker Hockey

Me too- Everyone save your ten bucks and do not go watch this team. They are beyond brutal. You can thank me later:)

Yeah, that's really smart. Don't give the LSSU athletic department any money right at a period of time when they most likely need it the most. Yeah, that might solve the problem of Roque, but might lead to a bigger problem, like not having a team. LSSU's got enough problems with declining enrollement and whatnot right now.

Re: "The Lake Show" - LSSU Laker Hockey

State Universites of Michigan Enrollment Report.

Ummm... You wanna read through this and tell me which way enrollment at LSSU has gone since 2000? Might also want to look at which way enrollment has gone at some of the other schools in Michigan as well.

Your brilliant post said "right now" and "right now" enrollment is up at LSSU. I am therefore commanding you to go put on your dunce cap and go sit in the corner. Wheww what a moron:(

Jebus that's tiny! I had no idea. There are two public high schools (at least two) in the Twin Cities that have bigger enrollment!

2 things boot you are an idiot I would not even give you credit of being a moron. Also I heard the freshmen got into a little trouble and thus were not dressed.

Losing roughly 15% of your enrollment since 2000 is still pretty much a right now trend, and well, truthfully, the whole "Right Now" commit referred to a development out in Happy Valley, PA last month.

Also, personal insults are childish, and the sign of a weak mind you simpleton.

Re: "The Lake Show" - LSSU Laker Hockey

I feel sorry for the hardy bunch of regulars that have been around the LSSU threads over the years, to have to put up with this foolishness.

Re: "The Lake Show" - LSSU Laker Hockey

Anyone catch the Laker Hockey Show this evening? (I'm assuming there was one.) If so, what was said? I just got home and wasn't able to listen in.

Re: "The Lake Show" - LSSU Laker Hockey

For those of you in the Soo area, what's the story on the Hampton Inn & Suites out on the Business Spur? That's where I normally have stayed when going up to the Soo for a Lakers series, but it's no longer appearing on the Hilton or Hampton web sites so I assume it has either closed completely or has been taken over by another chain.

Re: "The Lake Show" - LSSU Laker Hockey

Hi Bill...It is now under another owner, but I am not in the Soo and do not know
the new name.

Thanks 3dognight. I believe it may now be called the Soo Locks Lodge. What I'm wondering about now, is how the quality compares to what it was as the Hampton Inn. Did the Hilton/Hampton chain drop them because of quality issues, because of economic issues (not meeting revenue expectations), or both. Either way speaks towards possible poor management. It's been fine when I've stayed there, but then that hasn't been since February.
