Deuteronomy makes it clear women who aren't virgins are to be stoned if they have sec outside marriage.
Sounds like a GOP campaign slogan actually

That's gonna make for a rough meeting at the Vatican for Callista Gingrich.

Guess we need to bring back, "eye for an eye" and all that.

Re: The "I Can't Believe There's No Abortion Thread" Abortion Thread

Of course after 40 years of covering for and protecting pedophiles, the Catholic Church has zero credibility when preaching moral wisdom.

Re: The "I Can't Believe There's No Abortion Thread" Abortion Thread

That's a mistake. People who vote R and cite opposition to abortion as a reason, are going to continue to vote R. It's equal parts mental conditioning by the Rs, and obvious pandering by the Ds.

Does "librul tears" constitute a single-issue voter? If so, you're wrong.

If the DNC thinks they can flip certain districts from red to blue just by running candidates who are opposed to abortion, then I have some lovely oceanfront property in Arizona to sell them.

That's not what this is about. This is about not having a litmus test, which opens the field up to a lot of candidates who are liberal on economics but working in socially conservative districts.

I doubt they are proactively going out and looking for anti choice candidates, but saying if there is an otherwise good candidate in a socially conservative area, they will support them rather than just giving up the seat. There won't be very many of them I'm sure so this is really not a big deal.

I'd guess there will be more pro choice republicans (eg Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski, Charlie Baker) than there will be anti choice democrats (Bart Stupak comes to mind as one).

How to eliminate birth "defects" in Iceland - kill the "defective" pre-born.

They've just about eradicated Down's Syndrome utilizing this policy.

While they're at it, why not eliminate the carriers, too

Yesterday your concern was for the seed corn (which is a really creepy way to think of people on it's own), today it's for all corn?

Re: The "I Can't Believe There's No Abortion Thread" Abortion Thread

Forget it. He's rolling.

Of course, maybe if there actually was an omnipotent and loving God we wouldn't have these horrific genetic disorders...

Metaphor

We're killing our future generations, either with the gun or medically. I don't like either one.

We need to kill them the old fashion way, with wars and poverty.

And by that logic, masturbating is murder, and everyone who has hit puberty should be in prison for life.

Last I checked, over population is still a much bigger concern than under.

it would be nice if we could reduce the population on this planet a bit. I'll take lower birth rates, even if it means abortion, over an increasingly damaged planet and more human encroachment on the natural environment.

Nature begs us for more abortions.

Once we get FTL the crazies can have as many babies as they want. Until then, it's a lifeboat problem whether they want to admit it or not.
