The Guide to yelling at WCHA Refs

Re: The Guide to yelling at WCHA Refs

I was wondering about the numbers! Geez, that's annoying. Wonder what the reasoning behind that is.

The NHL did this years ago, presumably to take some of the verbal spectator heat off the refs, and reduce the personality cult of refs by making them part of the scenery, rather than enhancing individual identities. When the NHL did it, the refs hated losing their names on the backs.

I would assume that the WCHA has taken increased heat on referees in recent years, and probably did it for the same reasons the NHL did it - to keep the focus on the players, not the refs.

Re: The Guide to yelling at WCHA Refs

So rather than holding their officials accountable, the WCHA decided to make their officials more anonymous. If we can't put a name to the problem, then no problem exists! Another brilliant move by Greg Sheppard and Bruce McLoud.

Augsburg. The scary part is he has been out of the for over fifteen years and he still is faster than many of the current group of WCHA players.

In college he wore number nine.

I seem to remember that he was an All-American at Augsburg, wasn't he?

How about the guide to, "Shutting Up and Acting Like an Adult Because Your Life Doesn't Depend Upon the Game's Outcome"?

ever since god himself went to UND, everyone knows the only games UND has lost is because of bad refs. this is cannon from UND fans, so we know it's true. so, to give UND fans a little something to do when the gophers come to town and kick your asses, they made the ref a number, and not a name. It is time you start blaming your choking on something other than the refs, and the WCHA is trying to help you. Now, after you get rid of your racist mascot, and stop blaming the refs, you will be as happy as me.

I don't think even pharmaceuticals could make any of us as happy as you.

Scoreboards are apparently irrelevant this season.
