Re: The Greatest Programs of All-Time: #1-#59

#23 St. Lawrence Saints

Total: 68.43712
1 year change: +1.0907 (#24)
5 year change: +3.79362 (#30)
Last year: #22 (down 1)

Last year was St. Lawrence's best year by winning percentage since 2009-10. A 2nd place ECAC regular season was followed by a trip to Lake Placid, and a loss to Colgate in the semifinal. With a terrific freshman in goal, the Saints have a chance to continue current success.

Re: The Greatest Programs of All-Time: #1-#59

#22 Yale Bulldogs

Total: 74.90903
1 year change: +0.7678 (#26)
5 year change: +45.78493 (#5)
Last year: #21 (down 1)

The 2012-13 Champs had a solid year in 2014-15, finishing 3rd in ECAC play. However, the Bulldogs lost a double-overtime Game 3 to Harvard in the 1st round of the ECAC tournament, then lost to Boston University in NCAA play. Yale has been .500 or better for the last 8 seasons.

Re: The Greatest Programs of All-Time: #1-#59

#21 Providence Friars

Total: 78.90413
1 year change: +30.2188 (#1)
5 year change: +40.99383 (#6)
Last year: #24 (up 3)

The National Champs!

Re: The Greatest Programs of All-Time: #1-#59

Clarkson in the top 20 All time? Talk about resting on your past laurels.

Re: The Greatest Programs of All-Time: #1-#59

#20 Bowling Green Falcons

Total: 81.04617
1 year change: +0.5758 (#30)
5 year change: +1.278772 (#44)
Last year: #20

The Falcons have been above .500 the last 2 seasons, and made the Final Four of the WCHA, but lost in the semifinals and just missed out on an NCAA berth. More postseason success will be needed to move up the list.

Re: The Greatest Programs of All-Time: #1-#59

#19 Northern Michigan Wildcats

Total: 81.22429
1 year change: +0.3145 (#35)
5 year change: +1.897093 (#41)
Last year: #19

The last 3 seasons have been below .500 for the Wildcats, and last year ended in the 1st round of the WCHA playoffs. It's been a struggle for Northern to get things going in their new conference, and they will need to pick things up to keep from falling down the list.

Re: The Greatest Programs of All-Time: #1-#59

#18 New Hampshire Wildcats

Total: 87.5395
1 year change: +3.9444 (#8)
5 year change: +10.1299 (#17)
Last year: #18

UNH finished exactly .500 this year, and has 3 straight .500 or better seasons. Wins over Connecticut and Providence helped improved their standing, and got them to the Hockey East semifinal, where they lost to Boston University. They will need continued success in the postseason to advance further than #18.

Re: The Greatest Programs of All-Time: #1-#59

#17 Rensselaer Engineers

Total: 100.9543
1 year change: -3.4178 (#60)
5 year change: +2.737562 (#33)
Last year: #17

No team lost more points than the Engineers in the ranking, although they didn't lose a spot. A struggling regular season ended in the second round of the ECAC playoffs, after beating Clarkson in the 1st round. They had the 9th ranked offense and 10th ranked defense in ECAC play. Improvement will be needed to keep in their current spot.

Re: The Greatest Programs of All-Time: #1-#59

#16 Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs

Total: 114.528
1 year change: +2.9757 (#12)
5 year change: +47.97577 (#3)
Last year: #16

The Bulldogs had a solid season in 2014-15; after losing in the 1st round of the NCHC playoffs, they won once in the NCAA tournament, before losing to Boston University in the regional final. The 2010-11 championship has a great impact on their 5 year change; they will need continued solid play to keep their spot.

Re: The Greatest Programs of All-Time: #1-#59

#15 Clarkson Golden Knights

Total: 129.1142
1 year change: +1.0947 (#23)
5 year change: +4.54531 (#27)
Last year: #15

Except for 2013-14, the Knights have been below .500 since the 2007-08 season. A solid defense (4th best in the ECAC) was offset by the 8th best offense. Clarkson will need to get improvements in its offense, and its postseason play, to gain ground.

Re: The Greatest Programs of All-Time: #1-#59

#14 Harvard Crimson

Total: 132.0862
1 year change: +3.0225
5 year change: +13.19834
Last year: #14

A solid regular season, with a 6th place finish in ECAC, turned into a league tournament title in Lake Placid. Harvard had the top offense in ECAC play. They will need better regular seasons to match their playoff success if they want to move up the standings

Re: The Greatest Programs of All-Time: #1-#59

#13 Colorado College Tigers

Total: 147.735
1 year change: -0.4529 (#57)
5 year change: 5.375816 (#24)
Last year: #13

The first two years in the NCHC have not been kind to the Tigers; a winning percentage below .300 both years, and only 13 wins in the last two seasons. In 2014-15, the Tigers were last in the league in offense and defense.

Re: The Greatest Programs of All-Time: #1-#59

#12 Lake Superior State Lakers

Total: 154.5297
1 year change: -0.6386 (#58)
5 year change: 0.942453 (#50)
Last year: #12

The Lakers have had 3 straight seasons below .500, including their first 2 years in the WCHA. In 2014-15, they had the 9th best offense (ahead of only UAH) and the 10th best defense. Continued seasons like these may move the Lakers down this list.

Re: The Greatest Programs of All-Time: #1-#59

#11 Cornell Big Red

Total: 158.89
1 year change: -0.128 (#54)
5 year change: 6.440084 (#22)
Last year: #11

The last 4 seasons have been like a yo-yo; seasons above .600 in 2011-12 and 2013-14, seasons below .500 in 2012-13 and 2014-15. The 2014-15 season ended after 2 playoff losses to Union. If the last 4 years have been an indication, this year should be a good one.

Re: The Greatest Programs of All-Time: #1-#59

#10 Michigan Tech Huskies

Total: 162.3877
1 year change: +0.5063 (#31)
5 year change: +6.380068 (#23)
Last year: #10

Last year was the Huskies first season over .500 since 2006-07, and it's first trip to the NCAA tournament in many years. Michigan Tech had the 2nd best offense and defense in the WCHA last year. A return to national prominence will help keep the Huskies in the top 10.

Re: The Greatest Programs of All-Time: #1-#59

#9 Maine Black Bears

Total: 175.4474
1 year change: +3.342 (#9)
5 year change: +7.848885 (#19)
Last year: #9

Maine has gone from above .600 to below .400 for the last 4 seasons; if the pattern holds, this should be a good year. Last year ended in the first round of the Hockey East playoffs, against Vermont.

Re: The Greatest Programs of All-Time: #1-#59

#8 Michigan State Spartans

Total: 234.0161
1 year change: +0.3158 (#34)
5 year change: +2.546221 (#36)
Last year: #8

The Spartans finished one game over .500 in 2014-15, which was their first season over .500 on 3 years. Their season ended with a loss to Michigan in the Big Ten tournament.

Re: The Greatest Programs of All-Time: #1-#59

#7 Wisconsin Badgers

Total: 344.6008
1 year change: -1.3133 (#59)
5 year change: +9.670342 (#18)
Last year: #6 (down 1)

No team ranked higher lost points last year; with only 4 wins last year, the Badgers will be looking to turn the page. Last season ended with a loss to Michigan.

Re: The Greatest Programs of All-Time: #1-#59

#6 Denver Pioneers

Total: 360.518
1 year change: +5.0858 (#7)
5 year change: +27.13687 (#9)
Last year: #5 (down 1)

Denver's last season below .500 was the 1999-00 season. Denver lost to Miami in the semifinals of the NCHC tournament, then lost to Providence in the NCAA regional final.
