#58 – American International College

Points: 0.06851 Points
Points earned in 2015-2016: -0.0006 Points
Points earned in past five seasons: 0.06231 Points
Last Season Ranking: #58

American International College improved on their ’14-’15 season, when they finished 4-25-7. This season’s team won three more games to finish 7-29-3. But the biggest news is the resignation of 32-year head coach Gary Wright and the hiring of Eric Lang as his replacement. Lang played at AIC and was an assistant coach at Army for three seasons. He will need to put quite a few wins on the board for the Yellow Jackets to avoid moving to the bottom of this poll.

#57 –Sacred Heart Pioneers

Points: 0.16683 Points
Points earned in 2015-2016: 0.0068 Points
Points earned in past five seasons: -0.00277 Points
Last Season Ranking: #57

The Pioneers finished their season with a loss to Bentley in the AHA conference tournament, and a record of 13-20-4. Their last season with a winning record was ’09-’10 when they compiled a 21-13-4 record. The next three years were tough with only 14 wins. The Pioneers will need to put together at least a .500 season to avoid falling a spot or two next year.

#56 –PENN STATE NITTANY LIONS

Points: 0.32707 Points
Points earned in 2015-2016: 0.1353 Points
Points earned in past five seasons: 0.32707 Points

Last Season Ranking: #56

Penn State had a very strong year, finishing 21-13-4, a school record for wins in a season and were third in the Big Ten standings. At one point in the year they were ranked as high as 14 in the USCHO poll. Next year will be challenging with eight seniors and the starting goalie (a junior) leaving and seven freshmen joining the team.

#55 –UNIVERSITY OF CONNECTICUT HUSKIES

Points: 0.44278 Points
Points earned in 2015-2016: 0.0405 Points
Points earned in past five seasons: -0.22068 Points
Last Season Ranking: #55

The Huskies completed their second year in HEA this past season, going 11-21-4 after 10-19-7 the first season. Their finish was good enough to get them home ice in the first round of the HEA playoffs, where they fell to Vermont. UCONN loses 5 seniors and has a drafted goalie coming in next fall. They will need to rack up a few more wins to maintain their position in these rankings.

#54 –CANISIUS COLLEGE GOLDEN GRIFFINS

Points: 0.58911 Points
Points earned in 2015-2016: -0.0100 Points
Points earned in past five seasons: 0.56741 Points
Last Season Ranking: #54

The Golden Griffins took a step backward this season, finishing at 12-22-5, winning a first round playoff series but then lost to Air Force. Canisius lost only one senior but also lost their top scorer to the pros. They had a good season the prior year going 18-12-7 and making it to the AHA semis. A winning season next year will be needed to avoid dropping a spot.

With about 150 days until the puck drops, one every third day seems about right.

Things crop up, vacations occur, people get sick/injured. Let him go at his own pace, it's fine. Actually the longer he takes the longer Michigan will still be #1!

Re: The Greatest Programs of All-Time: #1-#59

I am grateful, just want to know if this will last the whole off-season.

Probably, over June and July you won't see any posts from him which is understandable. That's the way it happened last year.
