I'm honestly surprised that BC is behind Wisconsin. The Eagles have two fewer titles, but 11 more Frozen Fours, 6 more NCAA appearances, 3 more NCAA wins, 8 more conference RS titles and an even number of conference playoff titles only if you include the 7 times Wisconsin 'won' the WCHA playoffs before the format switch in 1981.

I think of them as more consistent than most of the others left. I suppose Minnesota, save for the few years at the end of the 90's and the last couple has always been in the hunt as well.

Yeah, things really are turning out a little different than I expected. Looking to me like Michigan should come out on top now. Wisconsin likely has to be next.

Yeah, but I think a conference with 3-4 teams that have been "in the hunt" for decades is probably going to hurt all the WCHA teams on here.

No kidding- I guess I was guessing about DU's consistency. Although, that's really what put Clarkson so much higher than UNH.
Hopefully, FS23 will put a short abstract on how he came up with the weights.

Wisconsin comes in at #5. The Badgers have made 23 NCAA Appearances, along with 12 Frozen Fours. In those 12 Frozen Fours, the Badgers were able to win it all 6 times, most recently in 2006. Wisconsin has the 2nd highest Winning Percentage in NCAA Tournament games of teams that have been to more than 1 NCAA Tournament, and has the highest Frozen Four Winning Percentage of teams that have been to 5 or more Frozen Fours. In other words, while Wisconsin hasn't necessarily been there the most, when they get there, they are very good. The Badgers have been very consistent, only posting 8 losing seasons as a member of the WCHA, a history that stretches over 40 years. Wisconsin is barely ahead of Denver, so they will need to at least keep up with DU to avoid slipping in the rankings. If the Badgers can make a few more Frozen Fours and win a title or two, they could also move up in the rankings. For now, Wisconsin sits at #5.

Seems that Bu's extra FF appearances must have outweighed wisconsin's extra title. Minnesota has five titles correct? I suppose Bu must not be far behind them.

Ha ha. DU with 7 national titles, 2 in the last 7 years, a gaudy number of Broadmoor and McNaughton Cups, an current impressive streak of 20 win seasons in the best league, and they come in at 6th. Respect for this ranking system = plummeting... Nice effort, though. It was worth a few looks over the past couple of days.

Correct. Minnie has 5, less titles but pretty good consistency and quite a few runner-ups.
