Late getting to this, because what news reports about Durham that I had read left me more confused about what he's saying happened than before, and I'm still not sure I understand what he's saying happened. Apparently, he's saying this lawyer Sussman was working for both the Clinton campaign, and this un-named tech guy(who happens to be Rodney Joffe). According to him, Joffe was accessing DNS data from WH servers and Trump Tower, and claiming that this meant Donnie and his group were using Russian phones to send info back and forth to Russia. Joffe told this to Sussman, who then told it to the Clinton campaign, who then created "Russian collusion" out of whole cloth.

Trouble is, it's all bullchit. Joffe did have access to WH servers, during the Obama administration, and was working on preventing those servers form being hacked. And Sussman couldn't have gone to the FBI with this story as an agent of the Clinton Campaign, be4cause he didn't meet with them about this until after Trump had already been elected. There's more, that I can't keep track of because I haven't followed it closely enough and don't know all the players, but much of it has to do with the shoddy investigation that Durham ran, not interviewing certain people, not investigating certain leads, looking for phones that he'd already had access to two years previously and "just forgot about" etc. Also, Sussman had told Kash Patel about all this back in 2017, so if Hillary was indeed spying on Trump and WH servers, that means Patel did nothing to either warn or protect Donnie during his entire term.

At any rate, none of the things coming out of the Trump camp and his water carriers, about Hillary spying on him and all that, are never even charged by Durham in his finding

There's other stories at the emptywheel site that go into this even more. I haven't had time to read through all of them and sort out everything she's saying. I do know, that if there's any one person who has the background to investigate this stuff, sort out the players and what's actually going on, it's Marcy Wheeler.
 
There's also a story at emptywheel, where, during the time that Wee Donnie One Term was packing up classified shit to skedaddle off to Mar a Lago with, WH Counsel Mike Ellis was 1. creating or authorizing the copying of a secretive NSA notebook of compartmented classified NSA information, which was then passed around to unknown numbers of personnel not authorized to have access to it, and 2. refusing to return an NSA document that contained some of the most sensitive information the NSA possessed concerning a foreign actor.

This, during the same time period that Michael Flynn was floating the idea of using the powers of the NSA to sift through electronic surveillance to find evidence of foreign interference in the election.
 
I kinda wish I still had more contact with people from Dartmouth, cause finding out the whole scoop about Ellis would be highly interesting. He always struck me as a Bush Sr.-esque old school conservative, not a batshiat MAGA Trumper.

Steve Menashi (now a federal appeals court judge) was different. He was always an odd duck, though even with him I struggle reconciling the guy I knew for a year in college with someone who sold his soul by working in the Trump WH to get on the bench.

So, Texas' new law intended to restrict voting has created such a clusterfuck that they've had to beg the DOJ to help them fix it.

But I thought Texas didn't need the federal government for anything. Talking of seceding and all, and how they'd be so much better off on their own. But when things get fucked up, whether it be their electrical grid, or their voting systems, who's the first place they run to for help?
