The GQP Thread: I'm even sick of that fuck's number and, anyway, he's gone (for now)

Kari Lake declared winner in Arizona. Hopeful that means we still have two Democratic Senators and a Governor in the D column there. No one in their right mind would vote for her or anyone on the ticket with her.

Hope so, but Youngkin was a lunatic piece of trash.

Most of the "experts" I follow basically say she will struggle unless Maricopa was a fluke in 2020. Her performance in Maricopa is why she ultimately made her come back in the primary but she can't count on that when she faces Hobbs in the general.

I don't know anything about 'Zona politics so I just listen to the people who are supposed to.

I'm curious as to what direction(s) this new stuff could go in.

I kind of get the idea that a decent chunk of the GOP would see Jones in kind of the same light we do: The crazy uncle who is off the deep end with conspiracies. But that other half...

**Gets Popcorn**

Well he communicates with quite a few on the Right not just the crazies and none of them have defended him. (I think MTG might have) I think a lot of them are going to see their names on big screens on live TV in September.

Jury awards $45 million in punitive damages. Lower than what was wanted but still a punch in the sack!! Gonna need to sell some more fake vitamins. Roger Stone is begging for MAGAytes to send him cash to cover the verdict...

This really sums up republicans. Others must suffer even when it has no effect on them

Cracker Barrel didn't get to where they are by having customers with more than two functioning brain cells to rub together. (Which is why the one in Manassas will never ever go out of business.)

The comments thread is amazing now that it's all people mocking the original comments.

Some of the better comments:

You know it’s really bad when you can’t even be pro-choice when it comes to food.
I often wonder if Mark Zuckerburg envisioned that his little project to rate girls on the internet would turn into a forum for thousands of old people to yell at Cracker Barrel for adding a menu item they didn't want. Absolutely wild.
The fact that you sell stuff other than crackers in barrels is why I'll never go here again!!!!

Heh. A very good friend of our family was a CEO and then dean of the Vanderbilt business school. Cracker Barrel asked him to be on their board, but he refused unless they would add at least some heart-healthy items to their menus (he was a healthy eater, an avid cyclist, and had a heart condition). They agreed, so I guess that was the first step on Cracker Barrel’s road to perdition.

Mike Rounds this morning is arguing that taxes trickle down. Is there a Republican on planet earth that can honestly debate anything?

CBS had Rick Scott on to talk about Medicare...and never asked the one relevant question. These empty suits are fucking worthless...

The media is crushingly disappointing. Journalism used to be an honorable noble profession. It has been overrun with profiteering.

Journalism still is an honorable and noble profession of finding the story and sharing it.

What Chuck Todd, Margaret Brennan, and whatever flavor of the month ABC has, aren't doing journaistic work. They're hosts of a political themed entertainment show.

They're not there to deep dive into these stories, they're there to advance the segments to the next commercial break.

And they're there to lull the audience into the learned helplessness of a tame Center-Left that will never make systemic challenges. They are there is ensure the "left" and "right" opinions expressed are two sides acceptable to their corporate masters.

No, these guys just aren't journalists. They are a pitch squad for the status quo. The "news" is here to ensure people never hear the news.
