Regarding FNC - they could tell the truth and still get viewers because there's just that much hatred out there on the right. They shouldn't have to embellish at all. None of the yucks that watch would ever switch to CNN or MSNBC even if FNC went straight.

RFKJ unites the populist left and populist right. You see the lemmings disqualifying him by trying to tie him to Steve Bannon, as if that's a bad thing. Bannon himself is a revolting figure but he brings with him the populist right. Populist as in a lot of people and a lot of disaffected voters. Getting right wingers to go along with a guy who will give us the GND is a GOOD thing.
It is for precisely this reason that RFKJ would never be the allowed to take the nomination, no matter what. Because the democrat party is a corporate cabal and not a real political party and the DNC primary is a sideshow and not an election.
Ralph Nader predicted a merger between the populist left and right against the corporate oligarchy.
Maybe dominion can take the settlement money and use it to buy titties for transgender women? Win-win!You also said it'd be settled for "Gretchen Carlson tittie money", and scoffed at the settlement being anywhere close to $1.3 billion in more than one post. Does $787 million qualify as tittie money nowadays, or were you just plain f-cking wrong again?
For lack of a better thread..
Some looney toon that considers himself a centrist posted this word salad trying to defend a vote for RFKJr. jfc

Is this from that idiot "No Labels" thing that's 100% a GOP attempt to siphon votes from Biden?
Fox says they're ready to take this one to court.
A copy of contest rules submitted in the arbitration said disputes would be "resolved exclusively by final and binding arbitration" and noted that arbitration "is subject to very limited review by courts."

I don't remember scoffing at any particular settlement amounts. I think that it could be fairly characterized that I scoffed at Dominion's claim that they could prove $1.3 billion in damages, and I still scoff at that. In fact, I think this settlement seems to confirm that I was right on that issue, since by all news accounts that I've heard, they had Fox pretty much dead to rights on many of the liability issues. If they have Fox on liability, why settle for $787 if you really think you were damaged by double that?
And honestly, yeah, it's all play money to these guys. $787 million is an unheard of fortune to all of us, but if you can afford to pay your wife double that just so you can marry someone 30 years her junior, you might as well be dealing with monopoly money.
Edit. But hey, thanks for confirming the fact that I did predict the case would be settled.
RFK Jr is a useful idiot just like Yang.
Nobody with a functioning cerebral cortex will vote for them. They are propped up by rightwing money to help the GOP, full stop.
I know it's not in your DNA to admit to you're wrong, but $787 million is not "lightyears less" (your quote) than $1.3 billion, nor is it "Gretchen Carlson tittie money", as she settled against Fox for a paltry $20 million. The rest of your post is superfluous bullsh-t that has nothing to do with the fact you were highly skeptical that Dominion would get anything close to $1.3 billion, and yet, they did.
$787 million is a lot of money, no doubt. And, if you had asked me back when the case was filed whether they would get more than $787 million or less than $787 million, I would have guessed less.
On the other hand, they also settled for more than a half a billion dollars less than what they claimed they were damaged, and I think you would have to admit that a half billion dollars is also a lot of money as well, is it not?
I'm not really sure what the whole point of your argument is here, by the way. I think Dominion got a good outcome. That's great for them. I don't own stock in either Dominion or Fox so it doesn't affect me one way or the other. It's an interesting news story that future lawyers in training can read about, but will quickly be forgotten by most of the rest of us.
I just thought it was really funny that one of Murdoch's wives got way more than what Dominion got. I'm not even sure why I found that amusing. As I posted before, to these people it's all just play money anyway.
I didn’t come here bragging. Predicting the parties would settle isn’t a terrible stretch. For someone who hates backslapping, you sure do like to come on here and pat yourself on the back a lot. My point was, in this instance, you were wrong. You repeatedly claimed Dominion wasn't going to get sh-t, and yet, they did. Why puff your chest out when the record makes you look silly?
I won't claim to know the specifics of why Dominion decided to settle. A quick perusal looks like they asked for $650m in actual damages, which they got, and then some. I won't claim to know why they didn't think they could get more in court, but if that's the number they calculated, I guess they'll pocket a cool $137.5 million for future endeavors, and pay less in court fees, their lawyers, etc.

All I posted was a comment about what Murdoch’s wife received, Handy got triggered and came after me. I corrected his recollection and pointed out that I had expected the parties to settle, and that’s where you decided your blather was necessary.
A Florida sheriff who has taken a hard line against antisemitic extremism in his county announced Thursday that authorities have arrested a third person for making online threats against him.
And just like the first two men arrested, this one also is living with his mother.
