I will definitely dare a jury to convict me.

I am honestly so disillusioned over how bad this is getting it is hard not to fucking rage out.

$44B and soon to be zero ad revenue. Truly one of the brilliant visionaries of our time.
By June, I expect we’ll hear about Apple and Google de-platforming Twitter due to rules violations. Then their server farm provider will add to the pressure. Twitter will become the next 8chan.

I got a post stopped for using "slapped" - is Twitter really not a complete free-for-all and you can post the N-word?

Its bad dude...literally it is people posting "Yay Elon N***** KIKE N***** KIKE N***** KIKE N***** KIKE" and then getting people to retweet it or answer with similar posts. (pretty sure stuff like that was trending) Hitler memes, homophobic rants, threats of violence and zero filters. And that was just hours after the announcement when the firings started...

Twitter had all of this before, it just kept quiet because the bot moderators looked for specific words in reports. (you could hate Jews just don't say Kike, you could say awful stuff about Gays just dont wish them dead) Just like in real life though now that there is no consequences for saying vile and evil things they are saying it out in the open and dancing in the streets about it.

Since the Saudis own half of Twitter, when do they buy server farms of their own?

I don’t know, but if it’s not in any of the app markets, the company is essentially toast in America. My bet is the site is >80% mobile app traffic.

People go to Twitter because:
  • Breaking news and the dissemination thereof. This includes journalists and normies.
  • Celebrities and their PR
  • Trolling and "discussion"
  • "The everything" - having one place to go for all of this stuff.
Dial up the overt racism and evil, and companies - be they the NYT, ESPN, The Gap, etc. - will abandon it rather quickly. Celebrities that are PR-conscious will leave along with them, and those that aren't quite as brand conscious but pay attention to their numbers will ditch it more slowly. With much of these gone or leaving, the 4th point withers.

I don't want to ascribe stupidity to Musk here. But would strip-mining Twitter for it's un-monetized components (selling data more, selling algorithims, etc.) come close to covering the price tag? I'm baffled by his goal here.
