The Generic Racism Thread 1: Lift Every Voice and Sing

The asset of value is the audience. Musk is about to discover the stadium owner does not own the people who come to the games. If you put a crappy product on the field, people will go other places and advertisers won't be able to sell them things, so they won't pay the stadium owner.

Musk just did the equivalent of buying the stadium and then paying more to name it after himself. For an ostensibly intelligent person he made a very, very stupid business decision. My theory is he has fuck you money and he is entertaining himself. He doesn't expect to make money but like Charles Foster Kane he can run it as a loss for as long as it gives him his kicks.

Owning the libs by...*checks notes*...spending $44b to acquire and tank a social media platform.

What’s a Kyrie.

/I’m old.

Some bouncyball star who retweeted some promo for a slanted film that denies the Holocaust, claims black Americans are the real descendants of the biblical Israelites, and that today's white Jews are frauds whose ancestors orchestrated the Transatlantic slave trade and control international finance. It's a real doozy of a book and film, apparently. Needless to say, his NBA employer and sponsors weren't impressed, and he's going through some stuff.

He is also a flat-earther and I believe he's anti-vax as well.

He is a full on Anti Vaxxer to the point he couldn't play in home games for the Nets because of New Yorks COVID laws.

The thing is Kyrie loves cameras in his fachiso he does and says stupid stuff. Unlike smart people though when challenged for it he doubles down and makes it exponentially worse. (Like being a Flat Earther) In a league filled with selfish pricks he is the Alpha.

He appears to be one of those people who assumes that because there are public lies (lowering taxes helps the middle class, racism is over, capitalism benefits people) everything is a lie. Once you think that way, if you then inject a healthy dose of Dunning-Kruger ("but I know it's a lie so I'm the smart one!") then you wind up falling for all the con artists who push conspiracy theories for their own agenda (climate change is a hoax, COVID is spread by vaccines, Jews run the ok that one's real).

MLK Day.

I already know the count of MAGA Republicans quoting "I have a dream" while ignoring the 10 mile long list of quotes condemning moderates and the ruling capitalist class will be off the charts.

Apparently, people are setting the herpa-derps from the Alabama riverboat brawl video to "Try That in a Small Town." I haven't found it yet but what a fitting tribute to our Dumpy friends.

Fun fact: throwing the hat in the air is apparently a call for assistance.
