Also, to post something on topic in this thread...

Last week our CEO let us know they were giving us Juneteenth off as a paid holiday. He wanted us to use it as a day of reflection. I tried to take that to heart and spent the day watching the documentary The 13th and the whole When They See Us series. I posted on Facebook what I was doing. One of the condo association trustees here that I know and am friends with on Facebook is a former Mass State Trooper and a Black man. He screenshotted my post, removed my name, then posted on his wall, saying "See? This is how an ally supports us." When I saw him the next day, he thanked. I told him there was no need, that it was something so simple...I don't know what I'm trying to say here. I guess it's more that it really makes you think that even the smallest of efforts can mean a lot.

If you haven't seen The 13th, or When They See Us, or even Just Mercy, which I watched a couple of weeks ago, I urge you to do so.

Splash Mountain is awesome, doubly so when it’s eleventy billion degrees out.

Guardians of the Galaxy is very fun but they haven’t changed Tower of Terror in Florida (which is also fun).

Matterhorn is awesome, Aerosmith is kinda dated but fun (and it pales compared to Incredicoaster in California).

Not quite... They are theming the ride to THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG. This was Disney's 1st black princess.

This wasn't a spur of the moment change (seems to have been in the works for up to a year), and Disney is playing this carefully. They don't want any attention for this, but they have stacked the deck in their favor if they are forced to play ball.
 
I would give Disney credit...but they were still advertising with Tucker Carlson up until like two weeks ago when they were called out for it. The only color they care about is green.

And I went to Disney World once...you couldnt pay me to go back again. I want to check out Land next time I am in Cali but that is more for nostalgia...plus I want to do Wally World quotes the whole time :-)

This is great! All you need here is about 5 minutes a day to be thankful for not having such a loser attitude and pathetic mentality.

This crew should get together for a gathering once a year. What a miserable get together that would be. Lol!

Yeah, Disney doesn't retheme rides on a whim, they've likely been working on this for a year or two. If anything they announced this before they really wanted to but sensed the opportunity to promote things and get some good press.

And of course the sunglasses brigade is mighty upset...
 
So to counter all of the negativity- one of our friends has been running a group in Detroit that has been dedicated to send kids to college, and make sure they stay. They are an amazing group, and we are very proud to know and support them. Education is one of the key reasons why this imbalance continues.
 
So, what is a DIY Karen who doesn't call the cops but takes cares of it himself?

Also, what can Barajas and the bystander sue him for? I guess for the bystander it's assault. For Barajas, how do you sue for discrimination against some rando who does this? There is a harm, beyond the psychological, in preventing somebody from entering his own home right?

Yes and they all eerily use the same language. I assume the Echo Chamber has been training them. They also tie it to COVID masks, a.k.a., "he could breath if he took off that mask."

One poster nailed it. "We used to have to find racists but now they tell on themselves."

I dont think there is much Barajas can do...his best course of action was to make it public which he did. Not Male Karen is losing his job and place to live.
 
Bigots are almost impossible to save but it would be nice if they at least kept the bigotry to themselves. Once they get into their homes they can rage at their bathroom mirrors or something. It is wonderful that these idiots are losing their jobs as soon as the news comes to light. I suppose there is an advantage to fewer than 10% of private sector employees being in unions as these idiots can be summarily fired for any transgression the employer believes was a fireable offense.
