Well, this is disappointing. At least 1960s racists had the courage of their convictions.
Racist White D-bag said:“What I did not realize was all of the national conversation about states like Georgia, Pennsylvania, and Michigan, was seen as casting doubt on the validity of votes coming out of predominantly Black communities like Atlanta, Philadelphia, and Detroit,” he wrote.
“After decades of fighting for voting rights, many Black friends in Oklahoma saw this as a direct attack on their right to vote, for their vote to matter, and even a belief that their votes made an election in our country illegitimate,” he continued.
Well, this is disappointing. At least 1960s racists had the courage of their convictions.
From my grad school work last week:
Do you think racism should be categorized as a diagnosable mental health condition? Why or why not?
Please defend your answer using the definition of mental disorder from DSM (below) as well as professional experience and personal opinion.
"A clinically significant behavioral or psychological syndrome or pattern that occurs in an individual and that is associated with present distress (e.g., a painful symptom) or disability (i.e., impairment in one or more important areas of functioning) or with a significantly increased risk of suffering death, pain, disability, or an important loss of freedom. In addition, this syndrome or pattern must not merely be an expectable and culturally sanctioned response to a particular event, for example, the death of a loved one. Whatever its original cause, it must currently be considered a manifestation of a behavioral, psychological, or biological dysfunction in the individual. Neither deviant behavior (e.g., political, religious, or sexual) nor conflicts that are primarily between the individual and society are mental disorders unless the deviance or conflict is a symptom of a dysfunction in the individual…" (pp. xxi–xxii in DSM-IV, not TR)
You have to be taught to hate.
And historically, the racism toward black people is rooted in the excuses that slavery that was importing people from Africa was not only ok, but it was a great way to do business. It's interesting to note that a massive amount of the world's racism can be traced back to the UK, and it's acceptance with trading people for profit- US, India, Australia, South Africa, etc.
What about religion, do we want to start labeling people who believe in an omnipotent being without any proof?
Morality has no place in science.
Believing in the existence of something you can't yet prove is a normal part of the scientific process.

Money shot:
"Hall's white police partner was arrested but not assaulted by police."
Yeah but I bet he got a speeding ticket once so...he deserved it.
