The Frozen Four

Re: The Frozen Four

Congrats Providence on your first National Championship. What a great back and forth game!

Really feel for O'Connor. Hope he bounces back.

Yeah, feel awful for O'Connor. Still can't believe that went in. It will take a long time I'm sure for him to get over that, but hopefully he learns a lot from it and comes back a stronger and better goalie. Hate to see a play like that in the biggest game of the season.

Awesome game, pc couldn't do diddly 5 on 5 until " the goal ". The building turned all pc at that point. great fun

Re: The Frozen Four

Never underestimate the power of the Holy Sprit.. Jesus made some saves for PC tonight and let a few trickle in on BU. Lord have mercy! In all truth, the BU goalie sucked tonight, in fact the reality is he has let in ****ters all season and Rodriguiez and Jack have picked him up..but not tonight!

Re: The Frozen Four

We lost to the team that won the title. No shame in that. I take a lot of solace in it. Next season can't come soon enough for me.
Same here--think I'll go with "some consolation" over "a lot of solace."

Congrats to the Friars and especially Coach Steve "Killer" Miller!

Re: The Frozen Four

anyone know if the nchc played a consolation game today?

Great showing by hockey east tonight

Re: The Frozen Four

OMG, this news just out of Boston, BU goaile Matt O'Connor noticibly upset as a result of his horrifc play in the NCAA national champinship game, arrived back at campus and jumped directly in front of an MBTA bus on Comm Ave. in front of Marsh Chapel, No worries it went thru his legs! He is fine! LOL!

Re: The Frozen Four

Sounded to me like the building was all PC the whole way.

Looking around tonight, saw lots and lots of red but I think the PC fans brought it more than the BU ones did. Plus a lot of us non-PC fans were at the PC pre-game bar and you had UML, Omaha, Denver, Michigan, and others supporting PC which carried over to inside the Garden during the game. With PC being the supposed underdog, many were rooting for them.

Re: The Frozen Four

I did play at this level and while I agree with you all that it’s not completely his fault. The bigger issue is this these are not kids, they are grown men, most of whom, are far older and wiser than any avg. college students, as all have been playing competitive hockey for nearly 2 decades, devoting 20 to 40+ hours a week since they were 5, some for 9 moths or more out of every year.

This was a choke, and the truth is that your guy O’Connor let in a lot of bad goals this season, especially in big games this year but Jack and Rodriguez bailed him out, tonight they couldn’t.

I have degrees form both NU and BU and while its hard for you to swallow, you have to be honest and call a spade a spade a spade. These were not defensive lapses, these were 2 goals that any starting MIAA MA Varsity HS Hockey Goalie could likely have saved!

However, you add the pressure of a big game and this kid folded like a deck of cards on the strip in Los Vegas on any given Saturday night. That said, it's good for HE and college hockey in general that it's just not another BU or BC win. Nice job PC!

If you think this is pressure, you think about the fact that every night every NHL goalie feels the same pressure knowing that a poor performance is one bus stop back to the AHL. O’Conner isn’t an NHL caliber goalie and Gillies is. Period! The truth hurts!

I think most people including myself thought BU would take it tonight but it is also nice to see teams the last few years win who never won it before. It is good for the game and makes it more interesting and exciting seeing the Yales, Unions and now PC win it.

You were a player!!?? I played at a higher level and if you have any class at all, you just don't throw another player even an opposing player, under the bus at a low point. You sound like a fk'n hack.
