The EC-Easy Conference strikes again...

Re: The EC-Easy Conference strikes again...

Even a blind mouse can find some cheese now and then! Still 40 minutes left in the game, but Yale did play a very solid first 20 minutes and they start the 2nd on the power play. Maybe like UNH the extra time off really helped them? When you injuries that extra week to heal up an be important.

3-0 through 2 periods. Apparently the blind mouse has a keen sense of smell as well for being such an easy piece of meat, huh?

It seems like the hunter (aka the WCHA) is becoming the hunted. First, DU is sent home by RIT ... now UND faces elimination at the hands of Yale.

Now, can St. Cloud take down Bucky? The WCHA still is guaranteed representation at the FF.

Hey Sam, what'd you use for bait?

Not bad for a team missing their best player, no scholarships and probably the toughest admissions standards in the nation. For the baiters that started this thread and these facts may not register, I am talking about Yale!:p

Re: The EC-Easy Conference strikes again...

The PWR is terrible. Of the teams it selected for the tournament, fully HALF of them have lost in the first round! Can you believe that?

It's a traveshamockery, I tell you!

They haven't lost! They just have fewer goals when they stop playing.

Re: The EC-Easy Conference strikes again...

neg rep..... win with class?
a) im not a Yale fan
b)this thread cant be considered classy

You're green for a while anyway :p

This thread is a fishing expedition, and he's landed some doozies.

Re: The EC-Easy Conference strikes again...

Just one more observation.

RIT is 0-3 against the ECACHL, but 1-0 against Hockey East!:p

On a serious note....sorry to see UNH lose. They are a great program with a great coach. However, big congratulations to RIT. Wow, that is awesome!

Re: The EC-Easy Conference strikes again...

Don't go there....this thread exists because of your team performing exactly as I predicted (designed to win in the ECAC with clutch and grab, but not the NCAA)!

Why don't you compare are recent tournament record to the rest of the conference. The ole "clutch and grab" has been the only thing keeping the conference's NCAA record marginally respectable.

Re: The EC-Easy Conference strikes again...

Wouldn't it be, Easy-AC. Why read anything else when you screw that up
It will be when the tournament moves to Atlantic City. :)

Seriously - Yale?? RIT    . What's next? Armageddon??

I don't have an axe to grind so take this for what it's worth. There is a lot of credence to what Got6 said. Today while driving in the car I had NHL Home Ice on the XM radio and they had quite a bit of hockey covage on the NCAA tournamanet and a lot of the guests on the show were asked and talked about the NCAA tournament. During one segment today the hockey "experts" who do this for a living were questioning Mike Schafer's tactics and style of play and while they didn't call it "clutch and grab" they did talk about it being such a defensive posture and plan that it made it difficult to win, particularly when they fall behind.
Last week in Albany after the Brown game a sage, veteran hockey fan in his 70's sitting near us said about Cornell and Schafer........."he's the only coach who could take what should be a 7-0 whitewash and turn it into a close game!"

Hey....it is what it is......in the NHL we have Jacques Lemaire who has his own style.

Rather than talk about that let's celebrate what is probably the best team the ECAC has put out on the ice in the last few years getting a big win this afternoon over North Dakota who was arguably one of the hottest teams going into the tournament.
And how about RIT??? Talk about upsets!!!!! I was figuring any chance they had would be like a 2-1 game but 6-2???!!! Wow!!!

Re: The EC-Easy Conference strikes again...

Yale......RIT 6-2 over Hockey Least !!! :o :o :o

RIT beat UNH. They couldn't have asked for a better Hockey East team to play in the NCAA tournament. There not called the University of No Hardware for nothing. So RIT is this year's Bemidji State and when they skate onto the ice at Ford Field in Detriot they will be everyone's darling until they get thumped by Wisconsin. Still a great college hockey moment for sure.

Congrats to Yale on beating UND. So indeed the mouse did find the cheese yesterday, but will they find the cheese today and be the first EC-Easy team to advance to the Frozen Four since Cornell did in 2003? Remember today they are playing BC who just happens to own one of the better records in NCAA tourney play. And what league does BC play in?

As for my comment about it being a bye for UND to play Yale, they certainly played like they had a bye!!!! How can a program with so much history of greatness not show up to play until the third period? Coach York will have Eagles ready to play today, but I was impressed with Yale. They don't play like an EC-Easy team. Great team speed, solid goaltending and really good special teams. I thought I was watching a Hockey East team yesterday, then I had to pinch myself so I would remember it was Yale.;)
