The EC-Easy Conference strikes again...

Re: The EC-Easy Conference strikes again...

They didn't deserve a bid, if they did they would have been in. Maine tanked when it counted.

And that is what we native Mainahs refer to as Yankee Integrity!;) Maybe next year...Maine has some young talent and one of the best recruiters ever!

Re: The EC-Easy Conference strikes again...

Now THAT was funny!:D Those guys should take valium!

Sad part is, that if they were ECAC refs, they were probably right!

The game at Meehan last year was ECAC refs. And Bruno got jobbed.
This year was probably Hockey East refs - the same ones who spend most of 24 non-BU games screwing over PC - and Brown still got jobbed.

Next year they should play at Bentley's "rink" and have Atlantic Hockey refs as we make our grand tour around the officials of New England.

Interesting!

This is exactly one of my primary complaints about ECAC refs. They stick it to the ECAC team every time in a NC matchup. That never happens in other leagues....the CCHA and WCHA are notorious homers. We don't need homers, but we do need them to call it fair or at least not show a bias against the league members.

Actually, I think some ECAC refs also work in the AHA. I think they should play in Newfoundland and then after the game, leave the Brown team and fan there until the thaw!:D

Wow - that may be the most complimentary thing I've ever seen you say about ECAC refs. Based on your previous zillion posts about them, I would have guessed that you believed them to be too incompetent and too inconsistent and too, well, buffoon-ish to pull off something as elaborate as a season-long surreptitious conspiracy against ECAC teams. But now I see that you actually do think they're capable of working together to ensure consistency in refereeing to achieve common goals. High praise indeed, coming from you.

Really? You're going to praise the ECAC refs? Hmm...I suppose it IS a matter of opinion, but only barely. Even the Brown students, who know less about hockey than the birds that live on the roof of Meehan, boo the refs vociferously (for Brown students, that is) constantly. It doesn't take a well-versed fan to see that their performance is, in general, pathetic and sometimes ludicrous.

Well, when the net "mysteriously" gets knocked off 4 times in the last ten minutes with Brown pressuring, and no referee intervention, I'm thinking they may have a valid point. However, as I wasn't there, so I can't really testify.

I can, however, testify to last year's game, where the refs clearly made a major difference in the game and stalled any chance of a Brown comeback and killed our momentum after Tim Army spent 5 minutes ******ing at them, and it apparently was successful.

Brown always gets jobbed. What else is new.

I agree. Well versed fans would not see their performance as pathetic and ludicrous. But you go on taking your cues from fans who have no clue - seems like a sound strategy. :D

Re: The EC-Easy Conference strikes again...

In case anyone was wondering if missing Backman was an issue, he signed a one year contract with the Dallas Stars today. He was my favorite player to watch out of any skaters I have seen in person from any team this year and Yale missed him badly. You can't just lose 10-12 quality shots on goal a game and expect to recover completely. I am a Yale fan and they have been surpassing my expectations all year, (except for the Brown series).
The UND game was a true example of a team coming together and showing just how talented they are, the BC game was an anomaly for both teams, they both need defense. And for all of the Brown comments, two of their guys are pros this week, ECAC is much better than the Big three think and I hope they earned a slight bit of respect these past few weeks.
