The definitive tournament speculation thread

I gotta admire your tenacity. You're hell bent on getting Salem St into the tourney even if you have to appeal to the NCAA!. Have you done the PWR comparisons with the teams against which they're competing? and how does Salem compare even without the Ranked team winning %?
Salem is not getting in. When Oswego lost, that put the dagger into their/our/my hopes. But, if the official figures are wrong, then can we expect the committee to make the best decisions?

Trying to impose logic / order / rationality on an inherently incoherent system is futile.

IF Neumann defeats Elmira for the ECAC West title; will one of those teams get a Pool B and the other a Pool C bid?

I watched Neumann this year at Stafford and I personally think they're tournament worthy.

HERE's the link to the team by team comparisons. You can compare any teams in which you have interest, with EC and NU adjusting by the proposed Neumann win over Elmira. The Ranked team comparison used to be on THIS page, but is evidently flawed and as of now() is not available.

You can answer your own questions, since no one's going to do the work for you.

Wow. Make one too many comments about D-I transfers...

Do you seriously have to post something like this every time you post? ...

And nobody wants to help you out! In the immortal words of Rodney King: "People, I just want to say, you know, can we all get along? Can we get along?" Please note it is the 20th anniversary that that story broke.

The Committee discusses the qualifications of Salem State:

Re: The definitive tournament speculation thread

So will the late Peter Boyle be getting up now that Castleton has bowed out early?

I think it was better for CSC to lose to babs tonight, rather than wick tomorrow...babs won't be ranked, so they maintain their RNK. Only negatives are perception and the lack of tomoorow's game for SOS purposes.

sunday should be interesting.

castleton will need everything to go true to form to get at large bid now Adrian, St Norbert Norwich and Plattsburgh all need to win their tourneys and get autobids

Adrian does not matter -- only one MCHA team will make the tournament. As to everyone else, yep. You do not want a crowded Pool C field.

This is true. That said, I find it hard to see Castleton passing Plattsburgh for the Pool C should the Cardinals fall to Freddy tonight. Assuming Plattsburgh were the only current favorite to lose tonight, I think you'll see Oswego, Plattsburgh, and Castleton in Pool C (although Neumann can still make a strong case here...). And that's assuming Elmira gets Pool B. Should Elmira drop into the Pool C field, I'd think that pushes Castleton out of the tournament.

The Committee once again explains the selection process.....

Bracetology by Lerch

Chris posted his next to last predictions, that may be Extra content. He's still got 8-3 if Norbert wins, 7-4 if they lose.

Playin:
Hamline at St. Norbert,
Curry at Castleton,
Williams at Neumann

Quarterfinals:
Hamline will go to Adrian if it wins; Adrian goes to SNC if the Green Knights win.
Neumann/Williams at Oswego
Curry/Castleton at Elmira
Norwich at Plattsburg

If you wish to read more, shell out the exhorbitent $10 or whatever it is.

Which does nothing to protect the #1 seed West and #2 seed overall. I think Josh and the Matts are spot on that Adrian (if they win) will be sent to Elmira for a QF. Then the NE winner goes to Norwich or Plattsburgh and the other Pool C goes to the other side of the Lake.

Will start this discussion in earnest at oh, about 10:00 tonight and finish it at oh, about 3 PM on Wednesday. Some will carry it on the rest of the winter and past Opening Day(tm).

My guess, if Fredonia upsets Plattsburgh - Fredonia goes to Adrian for a first rounder, with the winner to go to Elmira. Platts drops and Castleton sneaks in. (This assumes a SNC win). Hamline at SNC would be a quarterfinal. Byes go to Hamline, SNC, Elmira, Oswego, and Norwich.

I have run no numbers to support this, so I could be all wet.

One bye too many?

Re: The definitive tournament speculation thread

I think your wrong. I'm almost positive Plattsburgh will sneak in regardless of tonights outcome.
