There is some smoke with this, but every account seems to be very dubious. Given that its been floating out there for 1/2 a day now, I'm guessing the answer is no.
I didn't see it in the article, but what happens to those who have it taken away if they don't have any other citizenship? There goes Italy's hockey teams...

Are you talking about Netanyahu? I don't know how many brothers he has, but he had a brother killed in the Raid on Entebbe. Seriously. There's actually a monument to him at the Paris Jewish museum. Ironically, he was also the only Israeli officer who was against the raid, thinking it would be a disaster.Apparently this rumor has been floated several times.
Though this time around I am seeing that his brother died in a missile attack. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Yeah, apparently he’s been hounded for years by the press in Quebec. With AC not having a great reputation, this sounds like it was the final straw. Though it’s very Canadian that the thing that finished him was not the poor perception of service with the public or his poor labo(u)r relations, it was his lack of French.I read that he had supposedly committed to improving his French when he took the job, with the expectation that he'd be able to handle these situations. Seems he didn't follow through.
Pretty much. Like I said, Canada’s air market is a mess. Though how much of that is the fault of the airlines and how much is the fault of the government is debatable.I'm sure it didn't help that Air Canada barely tries anymore. As if Canadians have a choice, what are the alternatives - WestJet, Porter, and the Trans-Canada Highway?![]()
WestJet told passengers the cancellation was due to "unplanned aircraft maintenance" required for safety.
That did not match what he had just been told on the plane. And it meant WestJet didn’t have to pay compensation.
Under Canada's Air Passenger Protection Regulations (APPR), airlines only have to compensate passengers if a flight is cancelled, delayed or disrupted for reasons within carriers' control. However, if there is a maintenance issue that could impact safety, they don’t have to pay.
Just eight minutes before Neufeld's flight was cancelled, WestJet had reassigned the aircraft, which instead flew from Edmonton to Kelowna, B.C., and back that day. For Neufeld's trip, the airline brought in a different plane — one with mechanical issues.
