I'm surprised North Dakota has only 1817 days with the Belt, particularly considering that there are typically about 180 days in the offseason, and they have won 8 titles. Given that they should have about 1440 days after their national titles, that would mean they have less than 400 days of holding the belt during the actual season...similar to Brown, Ohio State, and Colgate. Interesting.

Here is what I got including the starting dates. Without checking I assume that for some of UND's championships they did not get The Belt since the team with The Belt did not make the tourney. They would have gotten an Alternate Belt however. Edit: See post 5 in this thread.

Do you have numbers for how many days teams have held the alternate belt? Crazy that North Dakota went from 1979-1983 Without holding the Belt despite winning 2 national championships (1980 And 1982) in the same period.

I have never calculated that. Just looking at post 5 on this thread, UND had those belts for long periods.
