Wouldn't be the first time weird stuff has happened. Illinois held a belt (Big10, presumably?) when they dropped their program; MSU held the WCHA belt when they moved to the WCHA, etc. For MSU, I believe it was treated essentially as an "alternate" belt that they held until they next lost to a WCHA team.

At some point is it the plan to merge the CHA Belt with the AHA Belt?

No. I am just following it whenever old CHA teams (those around at the end, not Air Force or Army) play each other. UAH and BSU are also eligible although it could get caught switching back and forth for a while between Niagara and RMU. I have been thinking about chucking it, especially since in two years, there will be no CCHA either. In addition, as has already been said, it is quite possible that a new WCHA Belt will have to be started since a NCHA or B1G team could leave with it.

BTW, has anyone checked if I made any errors in the first game this year for any of the Belts?

It just seems weird that a belt that is no longer "valid" would still float. It is my opinion, granted that I don't run this, that whoever holds the CHA belt and their conference's belt should be the one to merge it.

That's certainly an option. Checking post 19 on this thread, UAH had the CHA Belt when the conference disbanded. So I guess that we will have to wait to see if they ever join a conference. ;eek:

In addition to Ralph's answer, it should be added that the greatest loss to this entire website, and perhaps to college hockey in toto, was when the information in the first thread was lost by the board of this website. Oh, that it were possible to recover all the information that went into the research of the back history of the Belt. It was the greatest thread ever on any board, anywhere!!!

That (and the loss of a great number of other threads that were purged) was really a shame. Has anyone attempted to contact USCHO to see if they're archived somewhere?
