The 59th Annual Beanpot Tournament

Re: The 59th Annual Beanpot Tournament

You lost me there.

Note the key word "attempted". They most likely went for the hard iced tea thinking that the caffiene would sober them up. Not realizing that it was more alcohol, they became even more intoxicated. Continuing this trend, they kept buying more hard iced tea attempting to sober up and continuing to get more intoxicated. With the vast amounts of hard iced tea sold, tea prices went up.

Re: The 59th Annual Beanpot Tournament

did not expect to beat CHCC in the first round.

you SHOULD have expected to win that first round game no? a bumbling CHCC team vs the #2 or what ever you were then? wasnt BU #1 and NU #2 at that time? the price of the tea didnt have to be affected if you had put your thinking caps on;)

It's NU. I've never seen a pot. The Last time we beat CHCC in the semi's was 1988 (need I say anything else?). It has only happened three times in the history of the pot (which puts NU at 3-11 vs CHCC in the semis at that point). And only 7 times during the 59 year history of the tourney (not going to do the rest of the sorting and such). Forgive me if NU students and alum were/are pessimistic about the pot.

Re: The 59th Annual Beanpot Tournament

They don't anymore. Not sure when it changed, but they used to have to play Friday and Saturday night.

Yeah, so now Brown gets dicked over every year and has to play its biggest rival on a weeknight.

Wonderful.

Re: The 59th Annual Beanpot Tournament

What the organizers should do is.. do away with the consolation gm at the Garden.. play it mid-week or the same Monday at Matthews (home for us :)) or Agganis or anywhere in the city...

in all seriousness.. they should put the Women's Beanpot finals in the 2nd Monday slot for the consolation gm. It'll be the most crowd that gm ever gets & will be a boost to Women's Coll hockey. Besides.. being a final.. might be a pretty good game. Then you have the Men's finals. That's how the 2nd Monday should play out..

just a thought :).

Harvard? Honest question, how would you rank Brown's top three rivals?

and a good one but this is Boston and traditions are seemingly never altered so i doubt they'll ever do anything to change the format and as long as the place is sold out every year, why would they change it?

Re: The 59th Annual Beanpot Tournament

No kidding. I was really counting on this thread to provide entertainment through this storm. Pretty disappointed so far.

We all hate UMass Comm Ave here. Nobody but people whio went to or are going there care about you. We all want Parker to pass out in a drunken stupor and leave the pot to the rest of us. Maybe if he can take out the CHCC bus while he's at it and then leave NU with a legit shot to win the cup? Death to all Boston schools except NU!

Parker and BU don't exactly dominate the Beanpot anymore like they've done in the past.

Re: The 59th Annual Beanpot Tournament

Was that some kind of joke aimed at NU students?!?!?!?! Are you trying to say that they're all in rehab?!?!?!?! Well, poo on you!

nooooooo, wasnt joking about that ..........yet ;), check out above, it was about rational discussions going on in the thread as some sort of a novelty:D

The guy singing sounds like he has a serious nasal problem. And screw you for still having a Taco Bell. There was a line two blocks long all day when the BU Taco Bell was closed in favor of Starbucks #5. Five on a mile and a half strip of Comm. Ave. UNNECESSARY.

I remember when the UMass Comm Ave Taco Bell was the only one in Boston. I graduated before the NU one opened up. It was a pain to get out there for some good ol' taco hell.

He has a nasal problem because he snorts half his stash with all his UMass Comm Ave and CHCC clients. You expect his nasal cavities to be clear after all that?!?!?!?!

Re: The 59th Annual Beanpot Tournament

UMass Comm Ave

*sigh* Just goes to show you how ill informed all of you UMass-Roxbury students are. It's UMass-Kenmore. Nice to see your NU edjamication leaves out reading comprehension and retention otherwise you would already know that. D'uh. Seriously. I'm workin' with amateurs here!

5-year program clap clap clapclapclap!!! :)

Also, the Beanpot luncheon they scheduled for today has been cancelled. Or postponed. Whatever. It's not today. Always good for a few choice soundbites!

Outright canceled. No postponement. Needless to say, I'm extremely disappointed. That food is so good.
