No, he may dislike Tim as a coach but he hardly wants the team to lose. Who else?

Try following along...

If the team does well, then Tim succeeds and stays.
If the team does poorly, then it's Tim's fault and his tenure might end.

You can't root for good things to happen to this team and at the same time be rooting for Timmay!'s dismissal. 2+2 /=5.

I'm sure his VIPness would agree, if he wasn't busy dreading the possibility of Timmay! winning tonight and facing St. Cloud in the first round...

TF!

not even close

facts would be fine too, your posts (besides the pairwise analyses) are all "nuuh uhh" and "I guess YOU were wrong"
someone posts ANYTHING that turns out to be wrong, and you go back looking and repost their false prognostication and roll your eyes" but you NEVER go out on the same limb and take a risk of being wrong.

I have said it before, you have a wealth of knowledge about maine hockey history, and seemingly all the time in the world to look things up, and instead of adding to the conversation, you post like a 12 year old,
"Nuuuh, uuuuhhh."

I did ask at the door if they allow shut-ins and agoraphobics to buy tickets, and to my great surprise, they will let such "fans" in the door. You coming, Priceless?

You complain that I post like a 12-year-old, then post that garbage? You call Scarlet a c---. And you wonder why no one takes you seriously?

This post will probably be deleted anyway...

Re: The 3rd official 09-10 Maine season thread: Bubble-icious

Maine won last night by doing what they did AT Lowell earlier this season and NOT what they did at the Agganis a month ago.

almost every time a puck was loose, there was a Maine player streaking into the open ice where the puck was going. It was great anticipation, great hustle and besides about 10 minutes in the 3rd, NO sitting back and watching BU.

Connolly and Warsofsky would be 2 of my favorite players if they did not wear Scralette and (geez, cannot even spell it). Man those 2 can FLY and they know how to play. Maine had problems with Connolly, but he shot wide when he got free enough to shoot. We gotta hope that Atkinson and Gibbons and the Whitneys also shoot wide. Willie was good last night, but it was the great team defense that won it.

also, I have not seen anyone publicly congratulate DeKastrozza and I will. THe kid wins a lot of important face offs, he hustles and he is FAST. He might not look it because he has a Lemieux slow stride (as opposed to Gerbe little strides), but Dek has no problem annoying defenders in the corners and forechecking and getting to the puck. Oh and the nail in the coffin goal last night was not a bad one. (not sure why they did not review it and call it back, or just award one to BU after it went in behind Milan)

One thing I think I would like to see is a give and go between him and Dee.
Dee is a great shooter, but I think he would be better if there were even a slight chance of him passing... as it is, I think everyone knows he is not going to pass, so there is no point in the goalie worrying about anyone but him.

Wilson looks like he's trying out for Miami Vice

Whoever they have shooting this video needs a tripod.

I'm still waiting for names

Why? So you can reject them?

When someone posts that the team has packed it in so Timmay! will get fired, and then that team goes on to win the QF series and upsets BU at the Garden, I think I can question the poster's sincerity.

And sanity.

Re: The 3rd official 09-10 Maine season thread: Bubble-icious

Glad to see Maine bounce back this year. I have not seen them play much but I did watch last nights game. From a real outsider this year the team has some very solid players. Quite a bit of skill too. Number one on the power play again after a few down years. I'm surprises you rabbid fans have't got over the "Tim " thing already. He had to have done something right over the last couple of years to bring them back to this point. Also looks like Hockey East is becoming a great league from top to bottom.

Re: The 3rd official 09-10 Maine season thread: Bubble-icious

Yeah, he hired Bob Corkum. :p

Except for about ten minutes in the third period, that was about the most complete game Maine has out out on the ice this season, maybe for the last few seasons. They were aggressive about going after any loose puck, or any puck headed toward a BU player, they broke up tons of would-be BU possessions just by getting a stick on the puck and deflecting it away. Scrapped and scambled in the corners, fought for every possesion, tenacious.

That said, they did get a bit too passive and cautious in the third, and it cost them with BU players skating relatively unhindered into the zone and swarming the net. The call on the reviewed goal was the right one, I saw it behind Wilson right away, and him sweeping it out with his arm. But Dek came through with the nubber off Millan's toe pad.

I've been happy as hell for Dek this season, he's really made the most of his time after three years of spotty ice time and injuries. He's always been a favoruite of mine, and it's been great to see him getting the playing time, even more, earning it.

And Wilson's been unbelievable. I don't know what the reason is, maybe it is that "I'll show you" attitude(and don't we wish a few more of our goalies had had that attitude), but he's been calm and composed out there, projecting that out to the rest of the team. And his postgame interview was outstanding. They interviewed Diamond between periods, and he was all sports cliches and talking points: "What do you think about the atmosphere of playing in this rink in front of this crowd?" "Oh, it's great, but we really just wanna keep things simple and stick to our systems" over and over again, no matter the question. You could see the joy in Wilson when she asked him roughly the same question, he was like a kid on Christmas morning, he was enjoying this experience and let her know just how much. It was classic, and I just wish more players would be like that in interviews.

Great turnout from the Maine faithful, as it always in when they go to Boston.

The opportunities they gave up on the PP were scary though, they've gotta do something on that front.

Re: The 3rd official 09-10 Maine season thread: Bubble-icious

Oh, and I thought Jackie was gonna have an aneurysm during that timeout.

Hope the players had time to wipe the spittle off their facemasks

Re: The 3rd official 09-10 Maine season thread: Bubble-icious

anyone can supply the link to watch the game on internet? The one on the BB site takes us to B2 but there is nothing there!

Thanks! Goooooo Blue!

Re: The 3rd official 09-10 Maine season thread: Bubble-icious

Maine has played above their talent level in these playoffs but this game shows that they really aren't in the same league as the good teams. They have a lot of heart and seem to be trying their hardest so they are easy to get behind but they need to add some top tier talent to get back to where we once were.

Re: The 3rd official 09-10 Maine season thread: Bubble-icious

Tough loss, not much else to say. Maine exceeded my expectations so I'm not to disappointed. Losing your starter in net so late in the season would kill most teams. The one thing that sucked was seeing Dumollin on the ice when the game winner was scored:( .

Re: The 3rd official 09-10 Maine season thread: Bubble-icious

This was a very winnable game. Muse was terrible but Wilson was worse. I wish Darling hadn't let the team down.

Re: The 3rd official 09-10 Maine season thread: Bubble-icious

Congratulations to Maine. They didnt get the results they wanted, but their effort was fantastic. Definitely something to build on for next year. Hopefully Nyquist returns.

Wilson was terrible tonight, but he was also a key reason they were still playing tonight. Darling wouldn't have made a difference if anything they would have been knocked out last weekend with him in net as he was awful for most of the second half. Goaltending is the biggest issue with this team that needs to be fixed next year unless they lose Nyquist then it won't matter.

Re: The 3rd official 09-10 Maine season thread: Bubble-icious

:( if you had told me maine would go down to boston and score 11 goals in two games i would have never believed it.

more unbelievable is that they would score 11 and not win the he crown

Maine was just one goal away from winning their first Beanpot.

That hurt. We need to figure out ways to prevent hat in the future.

For next year.....

1) Must keep Nyquist

2) Must improve the goaltending situation

3) More consistent play on D. Some of that is coaching/training, some is probably another body

4) We don't get many shots in-state. Can't have them leave......

Oh yeah, and I need to get to more games :)

one thing that did not suck was seeing Dumoulin on the ice and seeing Diamond skate around him to score the tieing goal

that might have been the best game I have ever seen.
