(also, getting under the skin of Holmstrom WILL set him off and he WILL do something to get sent to the box... Joey Diamond COULD be instrumental in getting Holmstrom off his game.)

He did exactly that, it was great to watch

Hopefully Maine remembers how chippy Lowell was and doesn't take those same stupid penalties. Not many mistakes by the D last night, still wish they'd move it out of their zone quicker.

Re: The 3rd official 09-10 Maine season thread: Bubble-icious

Anybody know what time the ticket office will be opening today?

Tonight is going to get ugly esp if Maine goes up by a couple of goals. Willy was absolutely on his A game last night. PP was terrible. But I'll give Lowell some credit for that. WIlly play like that again 2nite we have a shot.

Another observation from last night. Wally you sure were right about Nyquist. Hard to tell from TV sometimes but live...the poor kid can barely move out there. A shell of what he was. I'll give him credit tho, he's out there playing as hard as he can. Just doesn't have that explosion and can't make those phenom. moves.

Re: Ticket office opening at 5 PM

Obviously, the folks in Orono don't seem to care about those of us who have to travel two hours or more to a game.

Anybody know if WPME has solved it's technical difficulties so that tonite's game will be on TV in the Portland area?

and the bizzare thing is that Hamilton is the one who controls rebounds and puts them in corners, while Hutton is the "garunteed first shot stop" guy, in other words, Hutton does not control rebounds as well as Hamilton.

Almost correct, with the small exception that you 1. are completely wrong and 2. obviously have no idea what you're talking about.

It's the total opposite of what you just said. Hutton excels at puck handling and controlling his rebounds and Hamilton is the "stop the first shot" goalie.

But, by all means, don't let silly little things like facts get in the way.

It wasn't on last night? I don't like the sounds of that. It better be on 2nite!!!

There were "technical difficulties" so the game was not televised here in North Massachusetts.

Was that the reason? I sat down this morning to watch my DVR of last night's game, and got George Lopez instead. Not very pleased. I don't understand why they can't just hire professionals in the broadcasting field.

yeah, they flashed a note up on the screen saying "due to technical difficulties tonight's UMaine Hockey game will not be seen"

Was thinking the same thing when the B2 network missed the first two periods of Friday's game.

I stand corrected on the topic of "first shot stopper"
but

the topic was not puck handling, it was rebound control.

Hamilton is the better rebound controller, and Hutton leaves a lot of shots out front, and thus is forced to make second and third saves.

second, that "quote' was right from the horse's mouth.
Carter and I had a nice long chat about why he and Nevin split time and what their individual strengths and weaknesses are.

I agree the defense is better. Something is wrong with VanDyk, though. He hasn't been playing well lately and made a huge mistake in the defensive zone last night. While in the corner during the 2nd period, he made a perfect pass to a defenseman who passed it to a team mate who had a direct open shot on net. Fortunately, Wilson made the save.

Also, the linesmen for these games are awful. There is one who is afraid of the puck and refuses to drop it.:D
