If this bull**** passes, I'm hoping for armed insurrection in California. Shoot to kill. Overthrow the government. Do what they have to do, because this has gone too far.

or you know if the Californians disagree with these proposals they vote out the politicians the proposed them at the next election and vote for people that will change the law to their liking. Hoping for a civil war is ****ed up.

Ok - first off, how dumb are the dummy crats? Banning Hollow Point Ammo - one of the major reasons for Hollow point ammo is that when you shoot some one the energy in that bullet disapates faster making it less likely that that bullet will pass through one person and continue on to a possible innocent bystander. Yeah it sucks more for the person being shot, but is safer for anyone else
Fixed Mags only? So that bans 95% of all guns, even 75+% of all hunting rifles
Single shot shotguns only???.
And liability insurance for a constitutional right????
You all lefties have totally lost control on any semblance of reality and sanity.

You also have constitutional rights to assembly and speech, but the government can regulate the time, place, and manner of those things in certain instances (you generally cant picket a residence at 2am, for instance). It can also require insurance for some pre-planned rallies/protests.

We already require things like hunting licenses. Not sure why they couldn't tack on an insurance requirement.

I like it. You don't like the rules, change them. If the citizens of CA are good with this, what's the problem? As even Scalia said, the right to bear arms doesn't mean you can't impose some restrictions. One has to wonder why prosecutors are being shot outside courthouses in Texas if that state is supposed to be so safe due to loose gun laws.

If you start small, you can whittle away until the big thing falls. Some may think it's a good idea, others may wonder what happened when it's too late to stop it.

Remember the Law of Unintended Consequences.

i'm with rover... states can make any laws they want that follow the intent of the constitution.

And that's fine, but it's the furthest thing from "libertarianism" so I'm just saying that word doesn't seem to apply to your social views. In essence libertarianism is the opposite of socialism.

:) *raises hand* first to call FreshFish a small 's' socialist!

Lower case "s" as there are a lot of things that "society" should enforce on its members where the government should definitely not be involved at all!

"Censorship" is the best example. The government should not be "censoring" free speech; but mature people who generally are polite and considerate of others should "censor" their speech all the time! So-called "hate speech" is the best example of that. Making "hate speech" a crime is absurd in my view; or making a "hate crime" more serious than the exact same crime without the "hate" attached.

If someone speaks in a hateful way, we call them out on it. If everyone calls them out every time, then one hopes they stop. However, we don't arrest them and send them to jail merely for saying nasty things (I know, there are a few already legally-recognized exceptions like yelling "fire" in a theater when there isn't one)

yeah, lower-case "s" fits my lifestyle too, I suppose. Resided in food co-operative jr and sr year of college. Active in men's volunteer organization. Volunteer at seasonal food and clothing drives. Was a Scout leader for several years.

"from each according to his ability, to each according to his need" is the worst possible way to run a government and the best possible way to "run" an extended family. If you impose it from without it is tyranny. If you embrace it from within it is love.

Go figure. :)

Best Speech ever - Dr. Ben Carson for President!!!! I love how he tares President Obama apart at the seams, all the while while Obama sits there with the dumbest look on his face ever! Reading is empowerment.

You mean the people that voted for the guy that would give them the most free stuff, right?
That would be them... Free stuff and promises to make it easier and safer for them to go to "work" by taking guns and any right of self-defense from their "clients".

Impressive, he has a set of balls to say all that with BO 10 feet away in a public forum. Big fan.

BO couldn't even muster one round of applause for any of Dr. Carson's speech...Michelle did early and often.

Re: The 2nd Term - Round 2 - Amensty for Some, Miniature AR-15s for Others...

I'm a state's right guy. Let state's compete for citizens. If Kansas wants to torpedo its students by pushing ID...let them do so.

Abandonment of state's rights and local choice is yet another sign of the decline of the conservative movement.

Re: The 2nd Term - Round 2 - Amensty for Some, Miniature AR-15s for Others...

Why is it the dumbest posters (blue, gopherguy) always buy into the idea that "other" people are getting payoffs. Could it be your lot in life is your own fault? I mean the biggest collection of welfare collectors are in places like KY and WVA, and that's where the O got his lowest % of votes!

No need to thank me for once again destroying a knuckledragger argument! Now please go back to wallowing in your martyr complex.
