During trump's first term I posted repeatedly that trump, and no one closely related to trump by blood or marriage, would ever face any actual, substantial legal consequences due to the (literally) hundreds of criminal acts he committed while in office, or were committed based on his orders. It is still true. The only people who faced any real trouble were the rubes and dupes (like the insurrectionists on 1-6-21) and most of them have been pardoned already.
There are simply not enough people in positions of ability who are willing to do anything about his criminal activities (or his unlawful activities that would be addressed by civil action) to pose any risk to him. Within mere weeks or months of him taking office the first time it was plain for anyone who cared to look to see his administration was nothing more than a criminal enterprise. That is even more true now as his criminal activity is tenfold what it was during the first term. The same people who wouldn't do anything to him between his two terms won't do anything to him if he leaves office. Hell, the military and the civilian law enforcement mechanism won't do anything to him if he were to actually refuse to cede power in January of 2029. Consequence will only come to him in the afterlife (if someone believes in that sort of a thing), or if Putin feels he is more of a threat alive and out of office.
trump should have been arrested within days or weeks of Biden assuming the presidency in 2021. His children and closest advisors too. We didn't do anything then, and we won't do anything in the future.

Yes. The Dems are stoopid and impotent and have no stomach for justice, and are in part implicated, and I'll bet they'll do the whole "let's just move forward" like after Iran-Contra and Dubya. Huge mistake.

Part of the problem is a lot of people don't have the stomach for a political bloodbath if it takes years to accomplish. I swear the entire population acquired ADHD along the way and are too easily distracted.

This has always been bullshit. 90% of the electorate has ZERO political principles and ZERO political theory. They want somebody who seems credible to address problems and skewer sacred cows. The Dems are pussies so the public doesn't trust them to function in a world of dicks, and votes for the assholes instead.
A Leftist who stands by convictions always becomes wildly popular, and then is torpedoed by the party and the fat rentier fucks who run it. It doesn't matter if 99% of the public says they hate "Communism." If you stand up there and say, "I will cut the taxes of everyone making less than $300k household income in half. I will triple the taxes of everyone with a household income of over $300k. I will end all corporate welfare and subsidies. I will fully fund universal health care and child care and education," and you don't prevaricate or compromise or stutter, and when some captured media dweeb or limp dick centrist whines you tell him "we are putting it before the voters as an explicit referendum. When we win we will have a mandate. We will do it all immediately, without watering it down, and without listening to any bullshit," well, if you can keep your Leftist head while all around you Liberals are losing theirs, then you'll be a man my son, and President, and we can roll back all the bullshit since 1961.
