The SAVE Act better get torpedoed in the Senate otherwise a LOT of people are going to find out in a hurry that they are unable to vote.
The emphasis has been on married wives being the biggest issue (and they will be) because the SAVE Act doesnt recognize court documents like a marriage certificate as an acceptable chain to link your birth certificate to you.
Which also means that divoriced people who take their maiden name back, adopted people, transitioned people, or anyone who legally changed their name for any reason, would soon be disenfranchised and barred from voting.
[SpongeBob Meme Font] But all you gotta do is bring those papers with you! [/font]
Nope, the SAVE Act as written kicks that can down the road.
Already looking for all my correct paperwork to get a passport because I changed my name at 18 due to my parents nasty divorice and my wife took my last name when we got married, so we're *both* fucked (and not in the fun way) if the SAVE Act passes.
