The 2024 GQP Thread: Because Deutsche Gopher Fan ENDED the Last One

When my conservative neighbor comes for dinner this weekend (he's not a MAGA) I'm going to tell him about this amazing cake my wife is making. After dinner she's going to bring out a bowl of cake better. When he obviously asks what that's about I will tell him that it doesn't need to be baked first to be a cake. It has all the same ingredients as a cake, therefore it's a cake.

Love the idea. Be prepared to explain the metaphor. Except those ingredients you wife had to borrow from him last week. :)
 
Scott walker is also painfully dumb.

on a tweet describing how Wisco is a purple state and now will have chance to be more accurately represented, he replied this:

“You guys are so stupid. Wisconsin is a purple state because of the Democrat votes packed in Madison and Milwaukee.”

And after you say that, tell him you’re putting the baby in the freezer and ask if he wants any of his kids to be stored for a while too

You mean the two cities where 40% of Wisconsin's entire population lives, Scott?

This argument is even dumber when the Michigan GOP tries it, since the Detroit and Grand Rapids metros account for at least 55% of Michigan's entire population, and that still leaves out smaller blue cities like Flint, Saggy, and Lansing.

What we need is a way to discount urban voters. Like, say, counting them as 3/5ths.

Boy this Iam Miles Cheong is a real POS. He posted that the 'Thomson Reuters' former director of data science Zac Kriegman claimed he was fired after sharing his research on race and police killings with colleagues' and cited this stat as evidence he's in the right:

Except the fact this ignores the fact that whites outnumber blacks 4.9 to 1 while deaths by gun by police were 3,047 for whites to 1626 for blacks 2017-23, meaning blacks were more than 4x as likely to be shot to death by a cop. Kriegman also said BLM contributed to 'deaths of thousands'. You'd think a 'data scientist' would be able to more than just make 'claims' but back it up with, you know, science.

With the results in S. Carolina pretty much what most people expected, what in the world is Nikki Haley's endgame here?

Does she actually believe that trump is going to be convicted of criminal acts between now and the conventions and somehow that will make a difference and as the only other candidate standing she would swoop in for the nomination? Is she suffering from extremely early onset dementia and actually believes she has a chance and is now going to start winning a bunch of these primaries? Is she absolutely convinced that trump will lose in Novembers and maybe THAT will break his hold on republicans and she is just setting up for 2028? Or is this simply a republican ploy to make sure trump stays in the news because there is still theoretically a "horserace" and he'll continue to get free publicity?

My money is on the latter.

Exactly. She thinks she has a shot in 2028 (certainly better chances than Ronny D does) and as long as people like the Kochs will blow money on her she might as well stay in and get some foundation built.

For the record she won't win in 2028 either...
