My cousin got to meet Beto yesterday. She talked to him about her main issues: coverage for preexisting conditions, and funding for mental healthcare at the VA. She liked what he had to say, felt he actually listened and that she wasn't just being used for a photo-op (woman in a wheelchair can make a good photo-op), and then spent the day canvasing for him.

Proud of my cousin for many reasons, but now I'm adding this to the list.

There is a reason why even if he loses people think Beto is going to move up the ladder. The guy is thought to be a star. The fact that he is within striking distance at all is crazy but he has been killing it for a while now.

Issue is that he needs a platform. Probably should be running for the House. Next time might not be as easy as it is this time around.

I got a Beto 2020 shirt for fun. Wore it around Edina walking my dog last week. Had several cars of adults drive by and say they loved the shirt. A car of teen boys followed me to yell that Beto sucks c ock and I should go back to Texas

I'm actually impressed that a car full of teenage boys in Edina even knew who Beto is, or that he's from Texas.

My one post here- man, I wish that the no-call list extended to elections. The calls we've gotten just today are nuts. I did my research, and know who I'm voting for, so stop calling.

I got two texts today, both for Republicans. One claimed Props 2 and 3 in Michigan were funded by "liberal special interests."

Replied STOP on both of them.

Got woken up a couple times today by them...Tomorrow can't end soon enough.

(I assume that's what they were...I don't answer calls from numbers I don't recognize)

@lyman_brian: @dick_nixon I saw McGovern speak a few months before he died. He recalled a tour with William F Buckley where Buckley reminded the audience that McGovern only won Massachusetts in the 1972 election. McGovern replied “How many of you think William F Buckley could win Massachusetts?”

Explains why one had a national following, and the other was George McGovern.
