The 2016 Beanpot: The Sacred Quest for the Holy Grail of College Hockey in Boston

Re: The 2016 Beanpot: The Sacred Quest for the Holy Grail of College Hockey in Bosto

Not sure why everyone thought NU was playing flat. They've been strong since the second period.

Didn't read the whole thread, but who said that? If anyone is flat, it's BU. They're only ahead because they have more talent. If we play this way next week we'll get smoked.

Coach Forrest Madigan has a case for flipping out on the missed icing call there. Not sure where the league finds the freaking guys. Let them keep the shirt and send them go work at Foot Locker.

Painful to listen to Tom Caron...even worse trying to understand Nikki Reyes hyperventilating through her speech...but the worst one so far was "dogged pursuit." Get it? DOGged pursuit?

hey now. she has nice boobies (and that's what nesn wanted when they let naoko go :( )

What are you worried about? The place looked 1/3 empty tonight...has it ever sold out since the games were put on live TV?

Northeastern is so, so, so bad. From the AD to the Head Coach. A handful of players played well tonight. Have to feel bad for Ruck. He played his *** off. The real victims are dumb Northeastern fans (like me) that go and support this program.

Ruck was awesome.
Far as the 2nd part of your post.. there's a handful of us out here.. the ADs office is tone deaf to the plight of the hockey.

It makes me sad. Things looked up big time with Cronin. Like we went to regionals and had some very **** good hockey players. Right now past Kevin Roy our second best forward is probably Gaudette..... That is disturbing. Nothing against Gaudette. He is a good player. However, when you are playing against BU/BC every single year you need a whole lot more than that.

Tough loss for NU. The game was relatively even overall. BU just has more talent and nice balance up front on the top three lines, plus many offensively capable d-men.

Ruck looked very good.

Even in what sense?

Without Ruck it might have been 5 or 6 nothing. Northeastern could barely manage a scoring chance. Most of their shots were gimmies.

that's the thing about the Beanpot, especially in the first round, all the people are never in the building at the same time.Granted it was a rare non-sellout at about 14,500 but even years when it is a sellout you have lots of empty seats. BC's 6+ full student sections emptied out in about 30 seconds after the game ended. I left too as $5 beer and a $7 whole pizza at a bar in Revere was better than $10.75 per beer and $9 slice inside. I always buy the cheapest seat i can. Last night i sat at center ice, first row on the balcony, best seats in the house. I bisected the redline

Actually it was about 11,700. Next week should be better with a BU / BC game but there is no doubt that the Beanpot has lost its sizzle.
