The only problem with the 17th is it's the open day during Disney On Ice and they'd have to break down staging and put it back up. That's February vacation week so they may have a matinee show on Wednesday with no time to switch out the ice.

I'm actually surprised it hasn't been postponed (or even cancelled) by now. There are also lots of watch parties scheduled across the country, which means there needs to be some adequate lead time to allow the schools to cancel with the various venues and get the word out to folks planning to attend.

Attendance numbers are 100% irrelevant to decision. With no good makeup days, it would severely screw over all four teams to move to a Thursday or Monday down the road. It would be a massive disadvantage to them in the stretch run of the season and affect both the beanpot result and those of other league games. That is the paramount interest, outside of a travel ban.

I'm sorry but have you SEEN how packed the Dog House gets? WHO CARES how many 'real people' go? Our student turnout is far more impressive than BU's.
I've been to plenty of games at Agganis, I know.

Im fine with a postponement just please dont cancel it,There is some room in the schedule,from a business standpoint TD Bank makes a good "chunk o' change" with these games they wont cancel,I am just so stoked to see the game go off,either way it's gonna be a great game,one "for the books" #GoNU #amped

Many years back wasn't there a measles scare where a game (not BeanPot) was played before an empty house? (Sean P will know.)
Even if the Garden expects a low turnout, there's a minimum number of staff that they need. Maybe they go back to the days of one Zamboni, no chorus line of snow scrapers, one ref/one linesman, no fri&&ing Jumbotron,etc.

I am super pumped up for tomorrow, so I would be disappointed with a postponement, but I'm no weather-man so I dunno how bad it's gonna be!
Regardless, whenever the game does happen I'm gonna be a mess of nerves and feeling like I'm gonna pee myself. There's something about having a LOT of BU friends that makes me want to beat their asses EVEN MORE. Otherwise, I have to hear them celebrate.
BU has got a good team this year but if our boys bring it, they AREN'T unbeatable. They tend to play a strong third period, (most BU goals I believe were from the third period), and I feel like we tend to be a little flaky in the third; kinda lose some steam? I dunno.
There was nothing worse last year than seeing BU **** the bed all season and then sweep us during the final weekend of regular season play. Heartbreaking.
So on that note, even though the odds are totally against us, it's just ONE GAME. Anything can happen. Go huskies!

Yeah, that was my senior year. They played the game at WBA with no fans. If you wanted to cover the game, you had to prove you had been immunized. I remember reading a story when Ed Carpenter said there were more donuts in the press box than people, and that they announced the attendance as 0.

I keep checking with players, even with parking bans in effect, public transportation limited, coaches have told players games will not be postponed. Once the snow starts and conditions become very bad, maybe something will change for the players safety sake. Monday it took some teams almost an hour to get there. Time will tell.
