THE 2015 BEANPOT.. ain't no deflate-gate

Re: THE 2015 BEANPOT.. ain't no deflate-gate

I swear though, if bu pulls the we can't hear you stuff, when they're right there, I'm gonna flip out.

I'm going to walk over to the BU student section and start that chant just to watch this.

mookie wants to congratulate the huskies now on their beanpot victory. this is their super bowl. their whole season and reason for living. 'when you ain't got nothing, you've got nothing to lose'. said john silber when talking about francis xavier belotti's last made dash in the dem gov primary some years ago :p
I remember going over years ago to Bright (or was it still Watson?) for BU-Harvard in the traditional Tuesday-before-Thanksgiving game, just a couple of weeks after Bill Weld (and Natalie Jacobson) had beaten Silber in the Governor's race. BU had something like a 4-zip lead after one period. (This was the fall of 1990 so you can imagine the Terrier line-up.) The Crimson band did a cheer, "We may be losing, but you're stuck with Silber."

Brendan Collier, OT winner. Book it.

Best case scenarios: 1) Collier with 2OT Game winning goal or 2) Darou in the final minute of regulation to break a 2-2 tie. If either of those two occur, it will be one of the most memorable Beanpot tournaments in many years.

If you do this, I would hope the NU section would start something like "Your mom heard us last night". :D

That doesn't fit the 1-2-3-4 clap clap clapclapclap cadence, though.

I always thought the "We can't hear you" chant was more for yelling at student sections that were quietly stunned at their team losing after being noisy earlier in the game. I think it's stupid when a loud student section chants and another loud student section chants "We can't hear you" back at them. We were up in Vermont a couple of weeks ago and our fans were chanting Go BU and you could hear them and the Vermont fans acted like they've never had opposing teams fans in their building and used the "We can't hear you" chant because they did hear us.

To be fair, I think that the roughly 40 BU students who go to Maine and Vermont is completely foreign to them because no other HE team has a student fanbase that will travel that far in those numbers, at least as far as I know.

The DogHouse is so deafening that they can chant from their dorms and be heard around the league!
