Big Ten Championship: Wisconsin def. Ohio State
NCHC Championship: Denver def. Miami

CHN must have been doubling up games again. Not sure what is going on with them this season.

Yeah, CHN showed both Michigan and North Dakota making it when I entered Wisconsin and Miami winning. I thought that could not be correct.

Re: The 2014 Pairwise, Bracketology and History Thread`

Assuming Wisconsin is in Cincy even if they are #6 overall, we get:

StPaul: MN (1) v RoMo (16); NoDame (8) v SCSU (9)
Worcester: BC (2) v Den (15)/NoDak(14)/OSU(14); Quinn (7) v Prov (11)/Mankato (10) depending on if Mankato goes to Cincy for attendance at both east and west regions
Bridgeport: Union (3) v NoDak(14)/OSU(14)/Ver(13); Lowell (5,6) v Colgate (12)
Cincy: Wisco/Ferris (4) v Mia (15)/Verm (13); Ferris/Wisco (5,6) v Prov (11)/Mankato (10) again, the Mankato/Providence thing depends on the committee's preference with respect to travel. Prov could bus to Worcester. And, the Lowell game and the Quinn game could swap places.

Assuming Denver hangs on

StP-UMTCvRM/NDvSCSU

I will translate
StP- Minnesota vs Robert Morris/Notre Dame vs St Cloud
Cincy:Wisconsin vs Vermont/ Ferris State vs Colgate
Worcester: BC vs Denver/Lowell vs Minnesota State Mankoto
Bridgeport: Union vs Notre Dame/ quinnipiac vs providence college

Re: The 2014 Pairwise, Bracketology and History Thread`

I predict

Minneapolis
Minn vs. RMU
NDame vs. SCSU

Worcester
BC vs Denver
UM Lowell vs MSU

Bridgeport
Union vs. Vermont
Q vs. Providence

Cincinnati
Wisc vs. NoDak
FSU vs. Colgate

This assumes Vermont and North Dakota will be switched for attendance in Cincinnati

I don't think anyone wants any part of Union right now or UML...

Pretty sure you meant North Dakota at Bridgeport, so thusly,

StP- Minnesota vs Robert Morris : Notre Dame vs St Cloud
Cincy: Wisconsin vs Vermont : Ferris State vs Colgate
Worcester: BC vs Denver :: Lowell vs Minnesota State Mankato
Bridgeport: Union vs North Dakota :: Quinnipiac vs Providence College

And really, not much doubt that I can see. Only possible changes would be Ferris/NoDame for attendance at Cincy, but it wouldn't help a lot, if any. Or, Lowell's game and Quinn's game swapping places because of the HEA/ECAC mix. But the committee has never done that. And, here, neither potential region final is a Conference final rematch, so.....

EDIT: Colgate 1990 has the only possible swap: NoDak for Vermont. Saves a flight. NoDak might bring a few fans to Cincy.

St Paul: #1 Minnesota vs Robert Morris // Notre Dame vs St Cloud State
Cincinnati: #4 Wisconsin vs Vermont // Ferris State vs Colgate

Bridgeport: #3 Union vs North Dakota // Quinnipiac vs Providence
Worcester: #2 Boston College vs Denver // Lowell vs Mankato

The difference is where do Vermont and North Dakota go? I say leave it as is. Jayson Moy, among others, have them changing places. As intriguing as a Wisconsin-North Dakota match would be, the job of the committee is to create a fair bracket, not an intriguing one. Otherwise, just have Minnesota play North Dakota in the first round.

Do you get a vote ? ;) Keep UVM out of Bridgeport..

looks like the only question is whether to flip vermont and north dakota. that will be interesting to see.

It's all about the $$$...The NCAA will send ND to Cincy since ND will send more fans to Southern Ohio as opposed to just the die-hards if they get sent to Bridgeport...More $$$ for the NCAA...Furthermore, if UVM goes to Cincy, it requires an airplane ride...Who pays for all of those last minute commercials airline seats??? The NCAA. So UVM to Bridgeport saves the NCAA $$$ plus increases attendance... (more $$$ for the NCAA) Plus, this change creates the all-Union bracket with the other three schools in the bracket having at least one assistant/head coach on the bench for the other schools who used to coach or play at Union...

I think Moy is spot on again...

The NC$$ already has its money. Any additional money would benefit the organizer of the Cincinnati regional. Further, there are only seven flights. That shouldn't be a problem for a supposed national tournament.

There is no reason to change North Dakota and Vermont.

Re: The 2014 Pairwise, Bracketology and History Thread`

I know Worcester is Sat/Sun... Do we know the time of game one and tentative time for game 2?
