Why not? They could go to Oswego on Wednesday.
Then there are 3 western teams in the QF round...can't give a bye to the f4.
EDIT: unless that's the only "western" playin

Called this yesterday:
If 3W (and Adrian plays Oswego), you end up with one Round 1 game and then one Western QF, 2 Eastern QFs and one mixed QF.Then there are 3 western teams in the QF round...can't give a bye to the f4.

Lets be clear about something. You don't have to abide by the travel restriction. It is highly encouraged, but the committee can ignore it. Just look at last year's (I think it was last year) D3 women's bracket.

Exactly. Adrian at Oswego with one play-in in the west and another one in the east.
But, I'm leaning towards two play-ins in the west.
It's not so much the numbers, but getting three eastern teams to Lake Placid.

The women's tournament was a 5-3 split last year. Somebody had to fly somewhere.

What he said. The one bracket that gets the top 4 teams to Lake Placid, which should be a reasonable concept is to have all 3 first round games in the East. That clears the decks in a way so that it is possible to get a FF consisting of Norwich, Utica, SNC and UWEC.
I guess what I was suggesting is that it seems to me to set the bracket up getting 3 east teams to the final 4 means that the #3 team in the east is better than the #2 team in the west? Or am I totally wrong? As I look at it one could make the case that Oswego seems very much over ranked based on their numbers yet is appears they will be ranked 3rd in the east.
Agreed, 2 playins in the west (sorry), and a 3E, 1W F4. They won't set it up wherein there's a chance for a QF flight, it's just too easy to set it up otherwise.

Unless I'm misunderstanding you, if there's only 1 West team going to Placid, with 2 play-ins in the West, there is a chance of a QF flight.
True, I keep forgetting that Adrian flies to STJ. Do they fly to Eau Claire?
