The 2013 New England Patriots

Ugly, ugly, ugly. I thought the Oline was supposed to be better with starters returning? No Edelman probably didn't help. Now they have no Amendola or dobson. The D was good anyway.

Re: The 2013 New England Patriots

At the beginning of the year, the Denver game looked very interesting. Now it shapes up as a repeat of last night (e.g. an ugly defensive mud rasslin' match).

"Next man up" award goes to Chris Harper. Made a nice catch downfield that was nullified by a penalty. Terrified me to see a guy from the practice squad fielding punts, but he handled them cleanly.

Receiving corps now looks like the O-Line earlier in the year. Here's hoping that if Amendola and Dobson miss time, it will just keep them out of harm's way for a few weeks, and they're healthy for the playoffs.

Re: The 2013 New England Patriots

Posted this wrap-up to facebook on my Gillette experience:

1. New England's in-game music selection, on point ALL NIGHT.

2. Absolutely hit a home run on the parking. Arrived about 5:45pm and got right into lot 11 pretty much. Blew off a wand guy trying to send me way to the back and found a spot right on the end of an aisle. On the way out, quick walk out of the stadium, back to the car and out of the parking lot and messy part of route 1 traffic in less than 30 minutes. ‪#‎killedit‬

3. Five Guys at Patriot Place and 32 ouncer of UFO white at Toby Keith's=solid pregame. Even landed a table at a SWAMPED Five Guys seconds after walking in by being quick on our feet.

4. Gillette Stadium when you're actually inside of it really is a nice stadium. Great views even in the 300s in the corner like we were.

5. Patriots fans for the most part were pretty accommodating to a visiting Bills fan. No real hostile situations. I think they feel bad for us for the most part. I made friends with all the Pats fans around me with stupid jokes all night to get them to accept me and the fact I knew the Bills weren't going to win. My friend who went with me can attest to that. Best line of the night from a Pats fan coming at me and I'll admit I had to chuckle on this one "take off the Santa hat it's not even Thanksgiving ya clown" touché sir. (I agree with you. I hate Christmas music before Tgiving") I was only wearing it because it was Bills.

6. The actual game? The officiating was deplorable all night for both teams. Really ruined the game not only from the actual play but to the flow of it as well. The NFL needs to do way better on Monday NIght in a pretty big game between two division rivals. In the end it comes down to what happens every Bills/Pats game. Either Brady beats the Bills because he's the best, or the Bills beat themselves with costly mistakes that you can't make against great teams. You can't miss field goals at the end of a half and then let the other team march down the field in a minute and score a TD. You can't fumble a punt and lose the ball after your D just made a great stop to give you a chance to take the lead in the game on your next possession.

7. Lastly, honestly really surprised at the lack of energy in Gillette for an undefeated team playing on Monday night. I really couldn't believe how quiet it got at times even with the Bills on the field for offense or after patriots make plays on offense. It didn't come anywhere near the noise you hear at the Ralph on a weekly basis. Of course, this was basically a preseason game for the Pats while it was our Super Bowl. (Thanks Barstool)

All in all, a fantastic evening all things considered even with the Bills losing. I went in with low expectations knowing we could lose and not hurt us too much and that's what happened. Just have to beat KC and Houston now.

End rant.

Amendola to have mri which means at the very least means some damage whether it's a ligament or cartilage

Glad it went well, and especially that you were treated well by the Pats fans.

Injury report is as good as we had any right to expect. Sounds like none of the injuries are season ending. I'm fine if the injuries result in a loss or two, so long as the Pats keep home field.

Patsies fans are great. Mookie always wears his stillers jerseys when he goes regardless of the opponent. Get good ribbing from everyone along with the curious odd few who come up and ask if he lost a bet.
Always a good time in foxboro with the cheating supporters :D

Have a few injuries. Gronk is the one that broke the camels back.

First of all, the NFL needs to get a handle on the refs. League wide this is the worst I've ever seen, and when every marginal call goes the home team's way its not hard to connect the dots.

Regarding injuries I agree. Pats will either get healthy or they'll put up a good effort but not have the horses to go the distance. Really looking forward to playing Denver again though, even if in Denver. Chicken sh! t team that needs multiple bad ref calls to win a game.

Gronk on offense and Hightower on defense.

Agree on the calls, but I wouldn't call them chicken s***. They got the calls, but on the go ahead drive, they made plays to get close before the phantom holding call.

Patriots fans whining about the refs are always hilarious. You lost that right years ago with the tuck rule game.

Merely a make up for an atrocious call that benefited the Raiders during the '76 playoffs. That just evened up the ledger.

Re: The 2013 New England Patriots

Gronk just a sprained knee, prognosis is out for a week or two.

looked like he was in a lot of pain, but from what i saw of the hit, it didn't seem all that serious, and I didn't think that little bit of knee whip would cause a major ACL or MCL injury. I just figured hyperextension, or sprained knee. Glad it turned out to be just that.

Pats can afford to tread water and take one more loss as I don't see Denver or Cincy running the table the rest of the year. IF and its a big if, they get everybody healthy they're the best team in the AFC by far. By healthy I mean Gronk, Edelman, Amendola, Collins, and Hightower ready come playoff time. Hell, if they're well rested it might benefit the team a little that they took some weeks off.

Plus hypothetically they'll get a bye week in there as well so the extra time to heal up and rest could be a great thing as long as they don't end up coming out rusty in the second round.

Tommy may have to throw the ball AND catch the ball AND block AND tackle....

All that plus walking on water. Dude has a full Sunday.

(Probably the most loathsome part of the Patriots' loathsome run and their loathsome fans' loathsome bandwagoneering is that Brady actually is one of the five best QBs of all time. Good god, that is irksome. It's even worse than his slash fiction partner Yeah Jeets!)
