The 2013 New England Patriots

Re: The 2013 New England Patriots

Amendola can do a decent job replacing Edelman for a while. With LaFell back and Gronk doing his thing they're okay on offense, especially considering the competition in the AFC (Peyton's corpse in Denver, Cincy getting smoked by...Houston?). I'd really like to see these offensive linemen get back in action. How long does a toe injury take?

Heading to the game Monday night. First timer for a football game. I've been there for two US soccer games vs. Brazil and Spain and the parking/traffic has been a $h!tShow every time. Any suggestions advice on coming to and from the stadium as well as any other tips?

Parking lot opens 4 hours before the game. Get there early. Unless you leave at the end of the 3rd qtr you're hitting traffic.

Re: The 2013 New England Patriots

Might as well pack enough food to tailgate after the game as well. While everyone else is sitting in lines and getting pizzed off, just relax, grill up some burgers and dogs, listen to some music or the postgame, and chill. You won't be getting home any later, all in all. Might as well enjoy your time waiting.

Been my plan at every concert I've been to there.

I've got a 3:30-4 hour drive home after though :x

Agree with the previous statements. This doesn't appear to be a commonplace thing for you. Make it a mini-vacation. For Monday night games are especially bad, because all the approaches to Gillette involve highways that are are congested by commuter traffic even on normal days. Take off Monday, go early find a room for the night, wander around Patriot place (or some of the many unsavory joints along Route 1) , enjoy the game, go back to your room, and go home Tuesday.

Sure. You can spend an hour and a half in a traffic lines waiting to get out, or you can relax and eat something, and an hour and a half later, just drive out. It's gonna take you the same amount of time either way.

You could even stop at Iorio Arena, look at the building in front of the rink and erect a sign saying "Nikita Kashirsky slept here."

Re: The 2013 New England Patriots

here's what you do.....

go to foxboro from 128 and take 95 south to route 1 and turn left on north st. go to Foxboro Express. this is a big building with a bunch of yet to be loaded trailers right on the SE corner of the intersection there with north st and rte 1. you can find a spot between trailers and tailgate. then when you are ready you walk south along the train tracks and into the stadium parking lots. you should in fact leave your tailgate late enough to walk through the commuter rail from boston.
after the game retrace your steps and when you pull out of the lot and back on rte 1 you are in front of all the stadium parking. head up rte 1 to 95 to 128 and get on the pike back to ny.

They don't run trains to Foxboro on game days/nights?

Re: The 2013 New England Patriots

So wouldn't walking along the train tracks be dangerous?

no. one train. and they park there. mookie stated by the time one leaves their tailgate and heads to the stadium the train is parked. mookie jumps in the train and walks through it to get to the stadium :D (warmer than outside!!)

Re: The 2013 New England Patriots

For a change, good news on the injury front. Vollmer, Cannon, and Jackson all at practice. O-line is back to "next man up" instead of "last man standing".

If you can take the time off this is what you should do. I only have an hour drive to Foxboro and this is what I do every time I go to a night game.

Re: The 2013 New England Patriots

Just saw on Twitter that the Patriots will have a moment of silence tonight for Ezra Schwartz, the Sharon teen who was killed in Israel last week. I'm glad. Sharon is the next town over and from what I've read, he was a huge Patriots fan.
