Yes, but why doesn’t Coughlin have more success against other coaches? Four games is more than a coincidence, and I’m starting to think that one thing that Coughlin does better than anyone else is not to outthink himself and/or shid in his pants when he’s up against Belichick. Some other coaches do.
Yeah, best case scenario is that Edelman’s back for the playoffs, without as many games of wear and tear on his body. He’s tough as nails, but he gets beat up a lot. Time for Dobson, LaFell, and Keyshawn Martin to step up. Be nice to see if between them there’s a semblance of a long passing attack; that showed some signs of happening last night.
The decision to let Browner (leads the league in penalties and becoming a bad sideline presence) and Revis (starting to show decline) go, which I disagreed with at the time, is starting to look better. Butler looked surprisingly good last night (first TD was McCourty’s fault and one of the PI calls was really bogus). Third corner got torched last night, but the cost of keeping Revis on a balloon payment (or a longer term expensive extension) would have undoubtedly meant depth problems.
