Great, he doesn't appear to be on the line of scrimmage...
Chris Jones
That's what I was saying...he was slightly off the line of scrimmage at the snap. It wasn't by much, but it appears to me he was..."at the snap"
at the snap, he was. that was the point.
This team is going nowhere without Talib, Dennard is pretty good but they need Talib. You can lose Mayo as there are other young guys at LB but Talib is the key to the D. Brady looks old to me
Its a pigpile of haters, I'm shocked that would happen in a Pats thread
Looked to me like another lineman crossed in front of him so maybe he wasn't on line of scrimmage? or he didn't get off on the snap and the other lineman did?
Can't wait to see it called again, maybe in the Superbowl with game on the line.
Supposedly NFL.com changed the wording on the rule right after the game.
Agree 100%. I was watching Andrew Luck last night and how he can throw on the run and thinking d@mn I wish we had that here. Brady just has happy feet and is making too many bad decisions.
When I saw the original replay it didn't look like much but after seeing another angle of the play it was pretty obvious he was pushing his team mate. It's just surprising this was the first time it's been called all season.Don't push your teammate into the offensive line and take the risk it's going to be called. Just because it's never been called before doesn't mean it won't. It just means no one has either done it, or gotten caught doing it. Pats have no one to blame but themselves for that call.
Hubris?I saw the issue about the wording of the rule being changed after the game too...was coming on here to check if anybody else saw that...if that isn't a hoax it is very interesting that they would re-word the rule after a game in which it was the deciding factor. The reason I suspect hoax is that the NFL shouldn't have its rules documents in a format that allows anyone to edit and publish them without multiple levels of control. So, nobody should have been able to go in on a Sunday and publish a new version of any rule...if that is what is being implied I first suspect hoax. If it wasn't a hoax then I would think Bob Kraft has already called Roger Badell...they should charge money to listen to that call and donate it to charity...we might cure a disease.
In the postgame, it was mentioned that this type of play, along with video of examples, was gone over with league officials as a point of emphasis during the week prior to thew game. Apparently it wasn't being called, so the league wanted the officials to crack down on it.

Especially when folks are saying the Jets did it in this game. In the end its an L and Brady is a far bigger reason for the L than one penalty in OT.
"Tommy can't throw the ball"
It's almost at the point where this would be enough. He was something like 4-20 on passes longer than ten yards.
Crappy weekend for Boston sports so far.Pats better rescue it.
