And a better example would be York over Umile. 5-1 against UNH at the Garden, including five straight wins (3-0 in HE title games).

Re: The 2010 Beanpot: Featuring One Team Under Consideration

So in other words. BU is so worthless that even pretending to be important wouldn't work. Way to go. Something to be proud of... for sure.

LOL yup. I always love this post from BU fans. "You guys think you're so cool because every now and then you're on ESPN, you knock off some major powers, get most of the local press about college sports, and have students who come to the school partly because of the perception of being a strong athletics school. Whoop-de-do! BUT YOU'RE NOT AS GOOD AS VIRGINIA TECH! Here at BU, we know we suck! Feel the fever!"

Nothing says "We're awesome" as much as a trip to the Emerald Nuts Bowl, a trip to the Music City Bowl, and, of course, leeching off of teams that national media actually care about (Duke, UNC, etc.)

...and not for nothing, but BU is a well-known, well-regarded school in the heart of a great city, with tons of money and great, modern athletic facilities - you'd think they'd be able to dominate the clownshoe America East basketball conference and go to the Dance a couple of times each decade. Then I could maybe see saying something about BC's 'major revenue sports.'

Buuut....no.

Hahahahahahahaha... Wow... way to copy Joe's parody of you guys almost verbatim.

This is what I don't get. BC has a football team, a successful one at that. BC's basketball program is also better than BU's. Why make fun of BC?

There's a reason no one is bringing BU basketball into this debate.

I agree. BC sucks at sports. How could I have been so foolish? Being ranked in the top 25 in football and/or basketball is so easy, I'm sure all of the other local schools could do it repeatedly if they just decided they wanted to, but why bother? Duh.

I really have no desire to talk about basketball. None whatsoever.

That post is one of the "Old Reliables." We'll certainly hear within 15 minutes about how BC's lost to some crappy basketball programs, and something about how BC students don't go to games/BC fans don't travel well, as if BU (or Northeastern) would know anything about that.

Re: The 2010 Beanpot: Featuring One Team Under Consideration

"BC beats good teams like Duke and UNC so they suck! But BU sucks more so we're not going to talk about it therefore BU does not suck more!"

Q. E. effin' D.

Now that it's laid out so logically, I see the error of my ways.

If every school in the country sent one fan representative to Agganis for a non-BC hockey game just once (pick one game, it doesn't matter which) the entire country would see just how fraudulent that ZOMGSUPERAWESOME fan base is.

That would be nice.

Re: The 2010 Beanpot: Featuring One Team Under Consideration

Dude, Steve's a BC fan.

And just because that was the best game of the year up to that point choog, we can't have possibly played any better in the past few months? Although, SteveF being a BC fan he's seen us play better than we've been playing in any other games. Any Beanpot game should be enough to get the local players going, I'm sure Ross Gaudet will mysteriously have a double hat trick against NU.

Re: The 2010 Beanpot: Featuring One Team Under Consideration

2003. Double OT loss. BC #2 seed. BU #5 seed. ABORTION!

2004. BC lost 2 of 3 to BU. BC #1 seed. BU #8 seed. DEPLORABLE!!!!!!

2006. BC loses in HE Final but beats them in the NCAAs. Who was better? I still say BC. No one will convince me otherwise, the cream rises to the top in the end. BUT, not really irrelevant, the teams split these games and one was better than the other for both games now that we can look back on it so neither Jerry nor Jack gains anything here depending on how you flip this.

2007. BC #2 seed pounds #3 seed. As they should have.

2009. Clearly BC lost to a better BU team.

So. Depending on how you look at the 2006 matchup of who the better team was (the other years are easy to figure out)...

Jerry as the favorite: 3-4
Jerry as the underdog: 0-1

Jack as the favorite: 1-0
Jack as the underdog: 4-3

That's pretty freakin ridiculous. Jerry grabs his ankles for Jack. Do you want to include say... Beanpot games? It would be uglier.

Because some(not all) BU kids wish they could have gotten into BC and now they have an extreme inferiority complex. How else can you explain them chanting "BC sucks" when they score against Merrimack?

As for the Beanpot, BC wins easily while BU beats NU by a goal on a late 3rd period Mike Hewkin defensive mistake. BC beats BU in the final, while all BU fans pretend that the Fenway game was more important to them than the Beanpot.
