Yeah, we don't have any of that up here. You're right. I'm sure that what's wrong with Texas and Mississippi there on the bottom.
Where do you live? To claim that Minnesota has anywhere near the same type of population as Arizona is laughable. Really.

Sounds like an excuse, Bob. We all live under the NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND federal law. That means ALL CHILDREN regardless of race, color, creed, or immigration status. Our government has said with this law that the students are not what constitutes success. Yet, you make that very argument.

So, with an EQUAL playing field Minnesota has come in second in science and math and Arizona 45th. Back when they passed this law I tried to make the very argument that you are making. But, it was like yelling at the wind. I'm not yelling at the wind anymore, but you can go right ahead.

Whoosh! Whoosh!

Wrong. The students are exactly the same. That's what the law states. If Arizona is 45th it is because of their teachers and the people running their schools. FAILURE evidently is acceptable down there.

The law says they are all the same, so they are. That's quite an impressive piece of legislation you've discovered. Totally divorced from reality, but impressive nonetheless. I'd go pull some census data and show you how different they are on very basic levels, but I know it would be useless. But as someone who has spent roughly half his life living in the two states being discussed, you are totally off base, and I'm being kind in saying that.

No, no I'm not. I made the very argument your making and the government didn't care. I made the very argument you are making in my local school district (along with countless others) and the local school district didn't care.

And you're not being kind. You're being oblivious to what is going on around you. The Federal Law says that all students are the same. That's what it says, and that's the law of the land. I'm not making it up.

You're being obtuse. So, of the federal government passed a law saying that everyone's hair is red, you'd believe that everyone's hair is red. I swear I never cease to be amazed by the stuff I read on here.

What that chart tells me is that it's harder for kids to concentrate when it's nice outside. :)

Now that makes a lot more sense than anything Scooby has posted. I do recall when spring rolled around in Minnesota, you really hated being inside school all day (except for the all too brief recess period), but at least you had all summer out of school. Here in Arizona it's the flip side, with kids in school through the nicest part of the year and then out of school during the hot summer.

It's not a new theory. :)

They must not have been in my kids school, I'm laughing at 10th place when thinking of BHS

Obama says he is going to look at NCLB, I'll think a lot differently of him if he abolishes it

Re: The 112th Congress: Debt ceiling edition

There's no question that unions are destroying education everywhere, Bob. You can see in that chart how it has systematically destroyed science and math education in Minnesota and Massachusetts. And it's no wonder folks are flocking to Texas.
Its either unions or parents who give a bleep

I'm all for it, too, but it'll never happen. Too many piggies are suckling at that teet -- it'd be about as easy to abolish the TSA or the War on Drugs.

Re: The 112th Congress: Debt ceiling edition

I might even consider voting for him if he does that.

Sure, cause parents in the South don't give a s***.
If they did wouldn't there scores be better no matter what the school. Unions don't mean sh_t in regards to test scores, you know it I know it

Yep, I know it. But, the Feds blamed the teachers and Bob blames their ethnicity.
