Sweet Release: Michigan Tech Offseason Thread Part I

Re: Sweet Release: Michigan Tech Offseason Thread Part I

Just a thought on students not wanting to walk up the hill to go to the games. I have a solution. A couple bars along the route would make the trip much more worthwhile. I'm sure there's a few of the lazies out doing senior walk today and that's not exactly a short jaunt.

I think they should just cut all electricity in Wads from 6:00 to 10:00 every Friday and Saturday night to get those lazy ****s off their *** and out of their stinky *** nerd caves.

Either you'd get people to the hockey games, or someone would invent a new supercapacitor capable of powering fifty computers for four hours.

Actually I'm pretty sure that the only thing it would inspire is doubling the amount MIP's (we are talking about those still living in dorms afterall) and tripling the reports of creepy guys looking in sorority windows.

Electricity might be a problem, but the network (and therefore, the campus connection to the Internet) could easily be "down for service" between those hours. :D

So many popular video games are primarily online multiplayer now that it's really all you'd have to do.

Congrats to Rob Nolan, named to the IHL All-Rookie Team on Wednesday.

Pulled a Halak and managed to squeak his otherwise mediocre/crappy team into the Turner Cup playoffs.

Also, made 45 saves on 47 shots in tonight's 2-1 loss to the Muskegon Lumberjacks in Game 1 of the first round.

Steve and I were on senior walk yesterday and got a nice picture if Molly could post it perhaps you guys will see it.

Chris Conner in the line-up for the Pens tonight at the expense of one my favorite NHL names: Ruslan Fedotenko.

Re: Sweet Release: Michigan Tech Offseason Thread Part I

Pretty cool seeing 3 former Techsters playing in the same NHL playoff game last night. I'm guessing that's a first.

A prediction: Ohio State will become a national power in the next few seasons. New head coach Mark Osiecki has been a winner as a player, head coach in junior, and as an assistant coach in D1. That will continue in his new venture. Tech needs to find someone like that when Russell's regime is over.

And some great news for local hockey enthusiasts. Tech's former home (The Dee) will be getting a new roof. Construction is set to begin as soon as the ice is gone, which should be later this week.

Ice is already gone or else I would be playing on it.

My Take: Osiecki will make them more competitive and consistently lead them to the top half of the CCHA, but they won't be a national power overnight (i.e. in just a few years).

Hockey tradition will have to be built at tOSU, which is a football school in a football state, and always will be.

Some bad news in the Husky Hockey family. Asst. Equipment Supervisor Roy Britz was diagnosed with cancer on 3/26. They will be holding a benefit on May 22nd.

Never a good thing to see anybody getting the Big C. :(

That or somebody would figure out a way to redneck together a generator from out in the parking lot, or on top of a snow drift.

Do like the idea of shuting down the campus internet during hockey games, or perhaps just slowing it down enough that they all get lag and its not worth it for them to be online. An idea for the reason for this is from all of the alumni worldwide that are online watching the games being streamed online jamming up the interwebs. ;)

Heard a rumor that they will announce this week that Bangen has been fired. He will be replaced by Richard Simmons.

Seriously though, nothing official yet. Anyone got any insider info?

We somehow sold over 200 of these dvd's at my work last summer. When we got them (we don't know what items we get in until they get there, kind of like a bag a crap but pallets) we thought we were going to end up throwing them away. We sold them for like $7 shipped and sold them in a matter of weeks,

You'd be surprised what people will pay for corny 80s/90s novelty items.

Yeah, and fitness stuff in general. It is crazy. The P9x system sells within hours of listing it every time. And I guarantee half these people never use this crap.

I know quite a few people that use P90X... or at least used it for a few weeks. ;)
