SUNYAC Preview

Re: SUNYAC Preview

I find it interesting there are posts claiming a highly decorated coach like Emery is retiring at the end of the year and no one here is commenting on it. If someone posted Coghlin, Gosek, etc., were retiring there would certainly be talk I would have to think.

The poster making the claim doesn't appear to have any credibility or sources as of right now. Therefore there's no point in commenting. Emery is going to retire someday, so if he/she keeps saying it, eventually he/she'll be right. That secret would be hard to keep up here, so I'm not getting excited over "pux44"'s breaking "news".

Given that the other two of the three legendary coaches from the area have retired it is a good guess that he will retire sooner rather than later, but without an official announcement, anything else is speculation

Re: SUNYAC Preview

The top of the polls should be interesting this week, with St. Norbert and Adrian losing, and Geneseo tying Buff State. #4 Stevens Point is 3-0-1, same as Geneseo. If they elevate Geneseo to #1 (huge if) I believe it would be the first time in program history.

Just missed....

Re: SUNYAC Preview

I thought both goalies played well. Potsdam had at least two advantages on 2 on 1's where blatant penalties [hooks] were committed and not called. The Potsdam penalty kill on the 5 on 3 was solid, and then the late Potsdam goal, and keeping the puck in Plattsburgh's end during the power play in the last two minutes was the clincher. Doubtful that Plattsburgh has ever gone through a game with only two penalties...Think the SUNYAC is wide open, All of Potsdam's scoring was by underclassmen...

Umm yes....they have...several times....

Go Figure....Canton 4...Fredonia 2

I was talking to the coaches after tonight’s Oswego-Potsdam game, as well as Meredith a few weeks back.

No one was surprised by this result. A combination of riding high, having back-to-back road trips to the North Country, not playing for points, and a halfway decent Canton team whom you can never overlook.

Platty slips past, (not crushes) Cortland, SNC loses...new parity in D3?

This has been D3 for the last couple years now...I've said it about 20 times on this board this year. There are 40 good teams in Division III hockey now and the gap between No. 1 and 40 draws closer every year.
