Sunday 1/3/10 Scores - Who needs stinkin' football!!

Re: Sunday 1/3/10 Scores - Who needs stinkin' football!!

That was also the year you lost to Plattsburgh by a series tieing record 8 goals 11-3 :P

Yeah, but I am pretty sure we outplayed them though :D

IIRC, the game at Romney went down to the wire, with us losing 4-3. One of the very few close games Platty had all year.

Your going insane...

Well, it wouldn't be the first time.

I can't believe all those key events happened in 1992. More to the point, I can't believe the hockey3 email list was around that long.

I remember reading those articles others have posted in a recent thread here. Just not the dates...

Indeed, that was Romney at its best...didn't matter how good or bad the teams were, you knew you were getting a tough game in Romney and a tough game at the Stafford. A lot of times you would even see blow outs at each home rink in favor for the home team.

I still am a little shocked a former players doesn't understand what I mean but the outplaying but losing....I doubt you can say every win you ever had you were the best team on the ice....you would think a former player would know the difference between on the ice and on the scoreboard...must be you never got outplayed in a win....

Not really a funny story, but my uncle owns that Ashe jersey...and if you look close there is still a little purple on that shoulder.....

I totally understand the concept, and I have felt many times that I was on the better team that lost a game. With that said, I just like flipping you sh*t.:D After all, the glasses I look through are Green & Gold.

No biggy...I figured at least someone would get it....they may be green and gold, but at least you understand :P wether you agree or not is a moot point...

One more kinda interesting tidbit from the (quite eventful) '92 season: in one regular-season matchup between Elmira and Plattsburgh, Plattsburgh scored 6 goals in Elmira...and lost; in the other, Elmira scored 8 goals in Plattsburgh...and also lost.

I guess the evolution of the goaltender and equipement has cut down on scoring in college hockey a little bit eh?;)

I think I could have scored some goals in the stand-up goaltending era:D

Re: Sunday 1/3/10 Scores - Who needs stinkin' football!!

Did anyone else realize that Lebanon Valley took Nichols to OT in Nichols' tournament?

They've had a couple of close ones this year losing by only 2 to Elmira (still the #6 ranked team) and by 1 to Utica.

Odds they get their first win since 11/10/07 this year? Maybe not great, but if so my money's on them doing it against a SUNYAC team.
